SCARPA F1 RS Boot
There have been 17 iterations of the iPhone, 14 generations of the Ford F-150, and 8 live-action Spider-Man films. It seems many brands take an original success and re-release it year after year with "improvements" to hold consumer attention. However, it can be rage-inducing when a well-fitting ski boot is discontinued after 1-2 seasons in the name of progress. Bucking that trend, SCARPA's new F1 RS represents the first upgrade to the iconic F1 touring boot in 13 years, and they made the re-boot count (pun intended). The RS, like its predecessor, is a mid-weight general touring boot that walks well enough for extended missions while inspiring ample confidence on even the gnarliest descents. But the upgrades? The boot is tongueless, which allows for an easier range of motion in walk mode, and the concomitant weight savings offset the slightly heavier fiberglass-infused Grilamid lower shell. The result is a boot that both skis and walks better than its predecessor, while maintaining a very familiar package and price. Other notable updates include the BOA H+1 system, with the adjustment dial sitting out of the way of potential wear and tear, and a sleek new color scheme that is a sight for sore eyes after more than a decade of F1-blue. If you have been holding out for a new touring boot option, the SCARPA F1 RS has been well worth the wait!
- Features the ergonomic BOA H+1 system, which makes transitions silky smooth and reduces the likelihood of a broken dial.
- Tongueless design reduces friction and makes walking uphill a breeze.
- Increased stiffness from the Grilamid Fiber Glass LFT lower shell, with a "progressive" flex pattern from Pebax cuff.
- 15-degree forward lean with +2-degree secondary setting.
- The Booster-branded power strap and cuff buckle improve downhill support.

Questions & Reviews
We are finding the fit volume is similar to the Quattro. Width-wise, it is wider than the XT, and slightly wider than the Quattro. Compared to the original F1 it is lower volume and slightly narrower :)
We have a 27.5/28 here. 305mm BSL.
I have the Maestrale RS and have felt like it’s getting too soft, even with an added booster strap. Does the F1 RS instill more downhill confidence in comparison?
This is not replacing the Maestrale line, it replaces the F1. This will be a a more uphill oriented boot with a lighter weight, higher range of motion, but slightly softer than the Maestrale.
Feel free to fill out our Boot Fitter and we can help you find a stiffer boot!
