Think movement. The Alagna Lite jacket and pant is a “near suit” for racing and high-output touring. The front panel of the jacket is made of Karpos K-Shell which is windproof yet still soft and stretchy. The cuffs and medial side of the sleeves are made of Dualfit, an even more breathable fabric so you vent where you need it. The back is an even lighter fabric called Dualfit Light, for even more sweat-wicking and breathability underneath a pack. Two large mesh skin pockets are located on the belly, perfectly situated between the upper and lower straps of most packs so you always have unimpeded access to your skins. Two external zippered chest pockets are the welcome home for nutrition products or a phone. Between the strategic wind-proofing in the front, ultralight fabric in the back, complete DWR finish, and YKK zips, Karpos has a real winner on their hands. It’s you.

  • Zip Garage keeps the zipper tabs out of the elements when not in use.
  • YKK Zippers, only the best is standard Karpos.
  • Body mapped for incredible breathability and durability.
  • Mesh skin pockets are situated on the belly for fuss-free access to skins.
  • Silicon grippers on the inside of the waist seal out drafts and make sure your jacket stays in place when you celebrate.
  • Front Vislon zip for faster opening.

This has been my daily driver mid layer for the last season. While I do love this jacket, I think it’s lacking some features that you might find in similar pieces which is why it lost a star. Pieces like the Acceleration or Mezzalama Race 2 jacket have outer as well as inner dump pockets and even a beacon pocket with a tether loop. For those of us that go light and fast those are some key features in a mid layer to speed up transitions and carry extra goodies like food/water. That being said, this is still an excellent piece that is apt for daily touring, training and racing. Just be careful to carefully tuck your skins into the pockets or else they might fall out!

Love this top for every day touring as my outer layer. I will generally wear just a single long-sleeve layer underneath, or if really cold, maybe add a short sleeve layer and don't adjust for the entire tour. Even on single digit mornings starting in the dark, I am generally plenty warm as long as I am moving and transitioning quickly. May be a little chilly if you are standing around on a summit or ridge in a strong wind. Warm enough on the way down. Only time I don't wear this is if it snowing hard. Front pockets work great for holding skins. The only downsides to the exposed mesh pockets is that they collect a lot of snow on powder days and your skins don't get any real body heat to help keep skins functioning. After around 60 days, the mesh is a little stretched out, but still works great. I am 6'4", 175 lbs, 33 inch waist, 37 inch dress shirt arm length, and the XL fits perfect.

Hey Karol,

Thanks for reaching out! I would recommend going for a large.

Question from Bruno Damico

Question about sizing on the Karpos Alagna Lite Jacket and Pant. Wondering what you would recommend based off my sizing. I'm 6' 150 pounds skinny/lanky. My chest is 37", waist is 30" and hips are 35" and my inseam is usually around 33". I'm sort of in between a small and medium in regards to the listed Karpos sizing but I feel like the small would be to short in the legs and arms. It also seems like these run a bit small. I also want it to be pretty form fitting like a speed suit. I used to work for Dyanfit and would typically wear a small pant and a medium top if that helps for comparison at all. I wear a men's small Dynafit DNA speed suite. I felt like Dynafit leg length and arm length always ran a touch long but the waist was really big with a 34" on a medium. Let me know what you think.

Answer from Brett S

Thanks for your question, Bruno. The medium top sounds like it would be the best option. We both have identical measurements on our lower bodies, and I think the medium again would be the best option. It was snug on my legs and waist and wasn't restrictive or baggy. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
