The folks at Kreuzspitze are masters of three things: simplicity, elegance, and ski bindings. Combine these talents with a secret ingredient (it's love) and the result is the Kreuzspitze RS binding. Precisely machined out of cutting-edge aerospace materials to ensure the highest performance and durability, this binding replaces the beloved SCTTT as Kreuzspitze's flagship race binding. The beautifully simple yet effective heel piece is the very same that is used by the SCTTT, whereas the redesigned toe piece features smoother locking action, easier step-in and exit, and a manufacturing process that promises the undeniable Kreuzspitze quality at a great price point. A titanium U spring guarantees reliable vertical release at the lowest possible weight. With a race-flap riser and a flat-on-ski option, this binding offers easy touring that can be appreciated on a mountaineering ascent, on the first climb of a race, or just when casually exploring the backcountry. If you're seeking a no-frills-attached binding that is precise, reliable, and won't slow you down, then Kreuzspitze's RS binding may be the one for you.

  • Made of Ergal, titanium, hardened steel, and technopolymer.
  • Toe piece utilizes Kreuzspitze's innovative Precision-Fast-Easy system for super-smooth stepping in and out.
  • Double toe-lever locking positions allow for boots with varying degrees of insert wear.
  • Optional race brakes will make these ISMF compliant!
  • Optional crampon adapter available.
  • Complies with ISMF regulations.

Question from Brad

Is there any reasonable option for adding a brake now that brakes are required for racing?
10/23/2023
Answer from Emmett I

Brad,

Unfortunately, there isn't an easy way to add race brakes to the RS or RS-A at the moment.

Is there a binding that is race-brake compatible that would fit the same hole pattern without redrilling or is my only option new skis at this point?

Answer from jbo

Hi Brad & Kristina, it appears Kreuzspitze has just developed a brake that gets mounted underneath the heel. Give us a shout help@skimo.co and we'll get some headed this way.

Question from Chris Cawley

wondering if these have a skier/system weight limit. not that I am a clydesdale or heiffer, but I know a couple.

Answer from Will McD

Hi Chris, Kreuzspitze doesn't publish and weight limits for this binding, though for reference we've tested the release to be at about 7-8 in both directions.

OK. Is that pretty much the case for all bindings? I guess I thought there were some that advised against skiers w/ gear over 200 lbs, for instance, using them.

Question from Daniel

Hi guys, do you know if Kreuzspitze as a company still exists and produces new models? I couldn't find really anything from them past 2019. Seemed like a cool little shop though.

Answer from jbo

Hi Daniel, they sure do! Not much publicity in these parts but they keep doing their thing in Italy. The GT 2.0 is a newer binding, and they've mainly been working on process improvements in the last year or so.

Question from Karl

Does the release value of the RS bindings differ from the SCTT/RS-A?
4/18/2022
Answer from jbo

Hi Karl, they are designed to release at the same values, and in practice, it seems pretty close with the RS maybe a touch higher.

Question from Mark

Where would be the best place to attach a leash to these bindings?
3/20/2021
Answer from Jeff

Mark, Pretty sparse at the toe. You can loop through the Crampon adapter hole if you are not using it. The back of the heel U spring will work well. That will not affect Release.
