As its name suggests, the Tour Pro is purpose-built for guides and serious backcountry users. Compared to the other skins in the Pomoca stable, the Tour Pro has the longest plush length, providing the best grip out of the lineup. To reduce friction while skinning, the Tour Pro features a permanent glide treatment that gives it exceptional gliding mannerisms, allowing you to move with efficiency on a big day out. This glide treatment also helps to resist the dreaded snow glop of Spring. Utilizing a 65-35% mohair-nylon blend, the Tour Pro is built to stand up to regular use while the Safer Skin Light (SSL) membrane prevents the glue from being contaminated with moisture, providing reliable adhesion even in wet Spring conditions. As Pomoca themselves attest, the Tour Pro has the best glide, best anti-glopping properties, and the best durability out of any mohair-nylon skin they produce. If you find yourself in the backcountry often, the Tour Pro is an excellent skin to bring home.
Tail hook has been engineered for durability in harsh climates, assuaging concerns from years past.
Universal buckle system works with a variety of Dynafit and Pomoca tip hardware.
SSL membrane helps to protect the glue from moisture, providing reliable adhesion across a wide array of conditions.
If it were me, I'd go with the shortest possible length for the weight savings. The thing to be aware of is that your tail clip strap will be a little bit shorter, which, for the picky, could be a sticking point. But I don't see any reason to go with the longer option.

Awesome! Thanks for your answer. One more question for ya. Ski dimensions are 127-96-117. Pomoca recommends the 120 width, do you think that'd be enough coverage? I've only ever bought used skins with used skis, so I wanna be sure I get the right size new. Thanks!

Generally, it's best to go with a skin width that is closest to the tail width. Does that make sense? In this case, the 120mm skins will be perfect for your 117-width-in-the-tail skis because you won't be trimming more skin material than necessary while still getting complete edge-to-edge coverage where it counts.

What width would you recommend for a Voile UltraVector 154 (119/90/105)? Also wondering if I should wait for the new Tour Pro Expedition skins in 110 or if the 90 waist width will cut off most of the grippy sides… Thanks!
Hi Carly, the 100mm would work for those skis. Hard to say if the Expedition would work well, we haven't heard how wide each portion of the skin is yet.

Hi folks- First set of skins I've bought in a while, trying to discern which Pamoca (or other...voile? Contour?) hybrid blend makes best sense. For a set of 178 Voile Chargers so obviously not hyper obsessed with weight, mostly looking for good blend of durability, glide, grip for winter / powder conditions. Looking at Tour Pro, Tour explore, Voile Hyperglide, contour hybrid... Any thoughts would be much appreciated. If tour pro, would anticipate going 120mm x 165-180cm and allow for a few less mm coverage at the tails. Thanks a bunch. -Tim
Hi Tim, the Tour Pro has a glide treatment that will help it glide better than the Voile Hyper Glides or Tour Explore Skins. It also has a longer plush length for better grip. It's one of Pomoca's most premium skins, offering the best performance in most regards (the other being the Free Pro, which has better glide and packability at a cost of durability).
Contours Hybrid skins ("Hybrid" referring to the special glue used) are very easy to pull apart and off of the ski, while also offering excellent grip and glide. The hybrid glue is a bit more sensitive, but when kept clean and well maintained, we have found it to be pretty reliable, especially in drier powder conditions.
Ryan- We generally suggest buying skins off tail width and then trimming them down to size. So, yes the 120mm x 165-180cm is the correct size.

Hi,
Wondering what the best size for a Black Diamond Carbon Convert (188cm, 133-105-117mm)? On the fence between 123mm and 140mm. Does having base exposed at the tip increase the likelihood of snow getting under the skin, compared to wall to wall carpet?
Will, The 120mm should be more than enough, we base it off the tail, not the tip. Full or not-full coverage at the tip shouldn't make a difference for snow creep. Just keeping the glue clean will do that.

What is the best size Pomoca Tour Pro Skin to order to fit Elan Ripstick 96 black edition (2025) 168 cm.
Hi Jason, any of their offerings would work well for you! The Tour Pro is a great all-around option. The Free Pro is the way to go if you want to prioritize packability and lightweight. The Tour Explore is the most durable of the bunch. The Tour Pro Expedition is the way to go if you don't mind the higher price point and want the best combo of grip and glide.
Shoot us an email at help@skimo.co and we can go more in-depth! Comes down to personal preference, and what sort of terrain you're skiing.
Pomoca lists these out as 65/35 mix while the previous generation S-Glide's where 70/30. Did they actually alter the composition as this should have significant impact on glide/grip?
Hi Dmitry, good catch! Had to do some digging since we believe the material did not change. Turns out...they've been 65/35 all along! Pomoca had some incorrect info on the old S-Glides (and Climb 2.0s), but the important part is no change to the grip and glide.

I have a pair of Elan Ripstick 96 black edition 168 cm (2025). What size Pomoca Tour Pro Skins should I buy? I am thinking of the 120mm, 155 - 170 cm but I am not sure if the is the best size.
Hi Bethany!
The 100mm x 155-170cm would work well! When sizing skins, it is best to ensure coverage underfoot throughout the tails, as this is the portion of the skin doing the most work. The Ripstick 88 has a tail width of 104mm. Accounting for a total of ~4mm of edge material, the 100mm skin width would fit perfectly, leaving less waste from trimming. Thanks!

Is actual length data available? My skis are 186mm long which puts me in the overlapping recommended length between L and XL. I bought the L not wanting too much, but it left a lot of my tail exposed.
We have noticed that the newer generation of Pomoca skins tends to run a little bit shorter, due to the re-designed tip buckle which is smaller than it used to be. As a result, it tends to sit a little higher up on the tip of the ski, effectively shortening the length a little bit.
That said, you do not need plush all the way to the tail - as long as the strap reaches the tail of the ski with an appropriate amount of tension on the skin, you should be okay.
There is not concrete data on which length will work for which ski length, partially because all skis measure a little bit differently and are not really standardized - and not everyone measures skis the same way. Skis can easily vary 2-3cm from their stated length.

I'm looking for new skins to fit my Atomic Backland 95 skis, which have a tip notch for a bungie attachment. These Pomocas look good, but can I easily switch out the metal loop tip attachment for a bungie-style one like the Pomoca Top Fix Race Tips? Or would it be easier to build a custom off-the-roll set starting with the Pomoca Climb Pro S instead?
If you want to modify the trim-to-fit skins to fit the race tips, you will need to remove the tip fix that comes on them and rivet the race tips on. It will require some trimming and work with scissors and a hole punch, but it is doable! Or, you could build it off-the-roll - I wouldn't necessarily say it's less work, it's probably more effort in the end since you have to assemble the tails as well.
Alternatively, you can modify Pomoca skins to fit a Dynafit Rubber Tip. It just requires a little bit of trimming with a razor blade to remove some plastic material from the tip bracket!

I’m looking at getting the blizzard zero g 95, should I go with a 100 or 120 skin width? Thanks.
Most would prefer 120mm! The 100mm width would work, but would not offer much coverage at the tip and tail - a bit straighter cut, for better glide. The 120mm will have superior grip on icy skin tracks and side-hills, at the cost of a little glide.
Anyone have experience comparing the new Tour Pro to the old Climb Pro? Side-by-side (Climb Pro purchased early Fall 2024 before going mostly out of stock now), the new Tour Pro has super thin felt.
Tour Pro now looks similar to the Free Pro (purchased spring 2024)... I have preferred the durability of the Climb Pro for the majority of my missions compared to weight savings of a Free Pro. But uuuh... it just looks like a budget cuts now.
Did not buy these here but appreciate the beta around skimo
Hi John, the Tour Pros use Pomoca's Safer Skin Light (SSL) backing whereas the Free Pros are built with the Safer Skin Ultralight. If you have any scraps left you can verify this in weight per cm^2. Note the Climb Pro S-Glides moved to the SSL membrane in 2020/21, so if your model was made prior to that it may have been even thicker.

Interesting. Those thick climb pro s-glides were shipped directly from Oberalp earlier this fall - I guess possibly old stock. No retired models around to check the g/cm^2. Everything about them feels better more durable the new Tour Pro that just showed up... which I can't imagine being much more resilient than a Free Pro that didn't even last me a season... but time will tell i suppose.
Thanks!
