SCARPA 4 Quattro XT Boot - Women
Hard-charging ladies who have been searching for the elusive “one boot quiver” can finally rejoice, SCARPA has delivered! Working with legendary ski racer Bode Miller, SCARPA set out to create a boot that could withstand the scrutiny of the pickiest ski racer while at the same time providing excellent uphill mobility. With a 115-flex rating, four-buckle construction, and GripWalk compatible sole, SCARPA certainly delivered on the downhill performance. Just as impressive, the boot has a 61-degree range of motion and low weight for its category that will make short work of big vertical days. Because warmth and comfort are equally important in a boot geared for the backcountry, SCARPA was nice enough to throw in an Intuition liner, ensuring an individualized fit. If you demand a boot with the performance worthy of an Olympic gold medalist while remaining a capable ascender, the 4 Quattro XT women’s boot won’t let you down.

Questions & Reviews
2) The instep is definitely low volume and the second instep buckle is very tight (even with the micro adjust maxed out). Is it possible to swap out buckles for something with longer throw (men's buckle?)
Unfortunately, these boots do not have adjustable cant (most dedicated touring boots do not).
The Quattro is very tight over the instep. We have found that when you heat mold the liners, you can gain an appreciable amount of room in this area. By buckling them tighter during the liner mold, you will compress the foam in that area more. This is the first step to getting a good fit.
I would imagine that you might be able to replace the buckle with a longer one, if you could find a way to source that part (we do not have it). Also, to change ladder/buckle positions, it is somewhat common to drill a new hole in the shell, either further in or further out, and move the rivet/screw to the new hole. Of course, this will probably void your warranty.
