Not in the mood to cut and mess up your newly purchased climbing skins? Then don’t! Armada has done the hard part for you by trimming these to perfectly match the sidecut of your Locator ski. By going with a mohair-nylon mix, these Austrian-made skins are designed to be light and packable without compromising on durability. The Fiber Seal construction protects the glue against moisture contamination while the Smart Glue provides reliable adhesion yet remains supremely easy to pull apart in temperatures down to -22 degrees Fahrenheit. Built for wherever the skin track goes, these precut skins are the perfect companion for your Locator skis.
Precut to fit the Armada Locator series of skis.
A combination of mohair and nylon provides durability without adding unnecessary bulk.
Smart Glue is designed to be easy to pull apart and off your skis.
Update for 26/27: Same amazing skin, just has a new look
I have the 112-width Armada skins and have used them around 30 times, would not recommend. Even when they were new and well cared for during transitions, the glue often failed after about 4-5k ft of vert. The tapered front cut encourages snow to collect between the skin and ski. The tail clip is poorly designed. I’ve had multiple failures, and once it ices up, you can’t adjust it. That’s been a problem when the glue is also giving out.

Question from
Matthew
Would these skins work for the Tracer 98? Or do you have a different recommendation? Thanks for all your helpful content and resources!
They will not - you could buy the Locator 104 skin and trim it down, but at that point, it's not any different from a normal trim-to-fit skin. It's hard to go wrong with the Tour Pro from Pomoca! You would want the 120mm width in these, and a size range that will accommodate the length of your skis.

Can you suggest a replacement tail strap/clip for the Armada 112 skins that is not manufactured by Kohla? I know that you currently are out of the K clips
Hi Brian!
Just about any replacement tail system will work for these skins! Contour's system works quite well and is easy enough to install. Speaking of Contour, their tail clips will fit on the Kohla strap with little trouble if you are looking to replace just the tail clips. It isn't a perfect fit, but it works fine. Thanks!

As best I can tell, these are Kohla Alpinist skins with the Armada branded plush. I have these precut skins for Locator 96s. The glue really sucks. Otherwise they're fairly average, packable skins with good tip hardware. Plastic tail clips. I never had a brand new skin come off as easy as this one doing a stand-and-rip - it was barely on there. Glue failure of these also ruined a friend's trip, who's on the JJ ARV. Be prepared to to reglue them with Black Label in less than 5 outings.
Hi Steve, these are not Alpinist skins which are pure mohair. The first gen skins did not have enough glue applied but that was rectified a few years back. I don't see a purchase history from you so can't verify what you have. The Smart Glue is designed to be less sticky than gold label (thankfully).

Question from
Brian
I'd like to assemble a spare part kit for my Armada Locator 112 skins. What is the closest front tip clip and tail clip replacement?
I’d say about the same thickness/stiffness as my green Climb Pro 2.0. And my Pink Free Pro is a touch thinner than those. I have some old (>6 years?) La Sportiva skins, that look like the other Kohla skins on skimo. Those are by far the thinnest lightest/smallest and fastest gliding skins of the ones I have tried.
