How is the fit on these ? Are they sized up a bit like some shells might be or do they fit true to size ? What is the inseam on the size medium ? Any other full zip pants you know of that are similar ?

Hey Chris, they fit a little baggy so they can be worn over tighter-fitting clothing. The inseam is around 31". Most other over pants in this category will be insulated, however, the La Sportiva Drizzle Overpant is a waterproof option that is geared more for summer activities.

How well would these work for trail running, or even backpacking?
Are the cuffs reasonably-sized for trail runners? Will they get shredded if I sit on a log?

Hi Sam, thanks for the questions! I have really appreciated using a wind layer like this on backpacking/mountaineering trips when conditions are windy and cold but not overly wet, when you would be reaching for a true shell. They are designed for skimo racing so are fairly breathable to go skyrunning in. The cuff fits to your ankle but does unzip to accommodate gaiters/ski boots. Lastly, these are well constructed but also extremely lightweight, so there may be better options for lounging on logs around the campfire!
