Dynafit Speed 25+3 Pack
From accordions to armadillos, it is clear that an expandable-collapsible design can be useful. Dynafit has recognized this wisdom in their Speed 25+3 Pack. Encompassing a litany of handy features for light n’ fast ski touring, this pack’s claim to fame is an additional zipper that reveals an extra three liters of storage space. This might come in handy carrying an extra puffy for long outings, pulling some extra weight for fatiguing partners, or hauling your favorite 28-liter water bottle. More conventionally sized hydration systems can thread through the top of this pack, making hydration and speed on the skin track mutually compatible. Circling back to those handy features mentioned earlier, a detachable ski carry and ice-axe speed attachment are sure to please everyone except the “enjoys removing their pack on a windy ridgeline” crowd. Height-adjustable breast straps plus breathable shoulder straps make strapping in a comfortable, literal cinch. To keep things sorted out inside the pack, a dedicated compartment for avalanche gear makes digging around for a shovel handle a thing of the past. Just as thoughtful is an externally accessible Safety Box to reduce the odds those crampons unexpectedly mingle with your lightweight softshell. To go far, go fast: choosing between speed and carrying capacity is unnecessary with the Dynafit Speed 25+3.
- Race-style, detachable ski carry system hooks from ski loop to shoulder strap.
- Removable bottle holder makes hydrating so easy, you’ll never need to take a bladder.
- Drinking system compatible in case you’d like to ignore this advice.
- Volume Expansion ensures a low profile until extra gear calls for an upgrade.
- Ice Axe Speed Attachment flips axe handles safely and securely out of harm’s way.
- Crampon Safety Box opens easily from the exterior so you don’t waste time finding a safe spot for the potential bag-ruiners.
- Avalanche Safety Equipment Compartment happily separates your most necessary gear.
- Waterproof Pocket is ideal for the hand-drawn map you picked up from a crusty local.
- Airmesh backing and breathable shoulder straps won't trap sweat next to your torso.

- This might be a record for most bullet points on a single pack.

Questions & Reviews
There's no dedicated way to carry a rope on this pack. You could probably rig something using the ski carry, axe loops, top loop, and some skimo straps, but if you think you'll need to strap a rope to the outside of your pack often, something like the Ultimate Direction All Mountain Pack or the Ortovox Ravine 28 Pack will give you more options.
The Speed has much more volume than the CAMP Rapid (28L vs 20L), so it all depends on how much gear you bring touring! If you're a minimalist - avy gear and a puffy - the CAMP would be fine. If you find yourself bringing lots of gear - multiple extra layers, lunch, second lunch, third lunch, etc. - the Dynafit might suit you better. Both are excellent packs, just depends on what you're looking for!
Hello again! The back panel on this pack measures 48.5cm. Hope this helps!
