Hi,
I can't find a lot of info on these skis.
I'm looking for a do-it-all ski. However, my must haves would be hold on firm snow during spring missions and a bit of dampness for some higher speeds when the conditions allow me to open up the turn radius and speeds in the alpine. So curious if you guys have any feedback on the edge hold in firm/icier conditions and feedback on the "speed limit"? Also looking for any feedback on the characteristics of the turn initiation.
Alternatively, the Radical 97 seems like it may have the attributes I'm looking for. But I was hoping the Tigard might have that little bit of special sauce for when soft snow is found.
Thanks for any info you can offer!
Dynafit Tigard 97 Ski
Sporting a generous rocker profile in a sub-100mm platform, the Tigard 97 from Dynafit is a progressive ski with quiver-killer intentions. Like its bigger sibling, the Hybrid core, which combines poplar and paulownia woods, is supremely damp and durable. Furthering the "durability" principle, the full sidewall helps resist edge compression caused by rock strikes while helping the edges bite into firm, icy snow. With tons of rocker on tap, the Tigard 97 is plenty surfy, while the Carbon Speed Stringers keep things poppy and lively. If you want a playful and easygoing quiver of one, the Dynafit Tigard 97 should fit the bill.
- Hybrid Core combines different wood species for optimal durability and weight savings.
- Full Sidewall holds up to use and abuse and helps with edge hold in slippery terrain.
- Carbon Speed Stringers provide energy and pop while keeping things light.
- Pre-notched tip allows for skimo-worthy transitions.

CC, So you are looking at the right Dynafit models. The Radical (Free) 97 is the Heavy Dynafit ski with a full Poplar wood core. Damp and weight to push through or over nasty conditions. And it does have plenty of tip rocker for powder.
The New Tigards, use a Hybrid wood core to shed some weight. Similar tip rocker, but have a more tapered and rocker tail for a more surfy feel.
Technically, it would seem they lose some of the firm snow ability, but I didn't notice it.

How is this ski vs the Voile v6 ?

Hi Christian,
Compared to the V6, the Tigard 97 is heavier, has a longer turn radius, and is more rockered. These attributes will make the Tigard a stable and predictable ski with a more slarve-y feel than the V6. The V6 will turn quicker when you put it on edge, and has a bit more pop and energy to it. Overall, both are great, forgiving and versatile skis - the Dynafits will be damper and more stable in bad snow, and a little looser in powder, whereas the V6 is a poppy, playful, and more lively ski!
