The Contour Guide Pure 2.0 skins are an updated take on a proven classic, offering reliable performance with thoughtful refinements. Designed with the same trusted glue formula that’s easy to handle yet won't leave you hanging when multiple laps are in the forecast, the Guide Pure excels in a wide range of situations. The new backing material is thinner, more packable, and engineered to resist water absorption, keeping the skins light even in wet spring snow. The 100% mohair construction offers a balanced mix of durability, grip, and glide, and provides a slight glide advantage in powder snow compared to their mixed nylon-mohair counterparts. With dependable glue, smooth handling, and a plush that thrives in soft-snow conditions, the Guide Pure 2.0 from Contour is a top pick for dedicated backcountry skiers.

  • 100% mohair plush offers all-around performance, with a slight glide advantage in powdery conditions.
  • Guide glue is a Skimo Co staff favorite for its reliable yet easy-to-handle nature.
  • Thinner backing material results in less bulk when packed away.
  • Backing material has been reengineered to absorb less water, keeping your skis light in wet, spring conditions.

Question from Patrick

Looking for skins for new Voile Hyper V8 in 186. Narrowed it down to Pomoca Free Pro, Tour Pro, or Contour Guide Pure. I have a pair of old V8s (that I love) with BD skins (that I don't love). I use the Pomoca Climb Pro S-Glide on my daily touring skis and these are great, but bulky. Seems like most folks are opting for Pomoca Free Pro due to weight and bulk. I am leaning that way but looks like the other two options also have reduced bulk and weight. I'm not that easy on gear, so Free Pro may not be best for me at 6'5"& 205lb. Any of that good Skimo advice for me on best choice and size?

Hi Patrick, love seeing screenshots of our website on our website :)

The Guide 2s are new this year so we don't have a ton of durability data, noting we havent seen any failure/rips yet. Great skin with reliable glue. The Free Pros win for packability, yes the tradeoff is you shouldn't skin over rocks/stumps/etc. For what it's worth, I went with the Hybrids for my HV8s since they can be ripped off with skis on (that's a lot of surface area for traditional glues).

Question from David Greenwood

What is the Universal fit? Will it fit a 188 Rustler 9?

Answer from Emmett I

Hi David, the universal comes without the tip attached, you can cut it down to the length you want and attach the tip. It'll fit a 188cm no problem, but not much longer.

Question from Ben

What is the weight difference vs the original guide pure mohair?

Answer from Jeff

Hi Ben, We do not have any yet to weigh. I can do that when they arrive.
We weigh with the backing, so not actual weights.
