Works pretty well as designed.
A double velcro strap would be much more secure. I mean another strap coming up from the bottom, that sticks over the existing strap that comes down from the top.
The single layer design is too easy to rip open.
Bottles are easy to insert a remove, and stay secure thanks to the elastic cord loop.
Thanks to the insulation you can use it in fairly cold weather.
However, durability has been horrible.
First the little webbing strap with the clip ripped out. Then the stitching at the top came undone.
The same things happened on both mine and my wife’s.
Basically, the seams are sewn very poorly.
The goal of a high-altitude bottle holder is to keep fluids in their liquid state for as long as possible. The holder fits most hard bottles and attaches directly to the shoulder strap of Dynafit and possible other packs. A bungee cord helps keep the bottle from rolling down into the valley below. The Dynafit Alpine Bottle Holder saves pack-space by keeping your liquid in front of your face. It’s good at maintaining dihydrogen monoxide's liquid state in cold environments. 29 grams (1 ounce).

Being able to add a water bottle holder where I want one is pretty clutch, and these certainly do the job without adding much weight. We've (got my wife one too) loved them, but we have had a few issues with them. The velcro has a tendency, even after careful trimming, to catch on your base layer shirt and wear on that. After a couple of years of use, the bottom buckle on mine has ripped out at the seam, and the insulation has escaped its seams on my wife's.
TLDR functional, ultralightweight, not durable in the long run.

The Dynafit Alpine Bottle Holder is my go-to for any hike or tour. Not only does it make accessing water a breeze, but the insulation keeps the water from freezing on chilly winter days. I appreciate the strap which keeps my sports bottle securely in place, even when the pack is in the car. The only thing I would change is the bright color - a darker option would be perfect. Overall, I highly recommend this product to anyone. It's made more than one friend jealous already

I have a 1l Sigg bottle which I would like to carry in this holder. Will it fit? Sigg bottle is diameter 8cm.

Hey Brad, you should be fine with your 8cm wide bottle. It will be a bit snug but it will fit!

The bottle holder is my new favorite way to carry water on a pack. Ideally your pack has some kind of horizontal line on the strap to mount, however it’s not hard to rig something up if it doesn’t.
Pairs well with the dynafit insulated bottle

This bottle is listed as "29 grams (1 ounce)" while the universal bottle holder is listed as "65 grams (2.3 ounces)"... but this holder is described as "an insulated version of the Universal" so how does adding insulation subtract weight?
I think I'm about to order it anyway, but I just wanted to ask. Thanks!

Hey Davo, both versions of the bottle holder are insulated. The Alpine bottle holder is just basically a lighter weight version.

How exactly does this attach to a pack? Looking to attach one to a Gregory Targhee 32, but not sure if it will work and can't find any pictures of the rear of the holder to determine that. Thanks!

Will this hold a 600ml Ski Trab Gara bottle?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Hi Steve, the 600ml Ski Trab Gara bottle will definitely fit. The Alpine Bottle Holder is sized more for a hard sided "bike bottle" and the Gara bottle will be a bit loose in it at times.

Hey Stephen, it'll fit a standard bike bottle.
