Dynafit Radical Infinium Hybrid Pant

Discontinued

Do you find yourself wishing you had the ventilation of a softshell pant but just can’t give up the waterproof and windproof nature of a hard shell? If managing sweat and fending off the elements are both equally challenging and equally important to you, then the Dynafit Radical Infinium Hybrid Pant is exactly the outer layer you need. Extremely weather-proof and breathable materials, GORE-TEX Infinium and Windstopper cover most of your legs. However, in the places that tend to sweat the most, Dynafit stitched in Dynastrech for added breathability. Needless to say, this pant is the best possible combination of wind resistance, water repellency, and breathability. It has belt loops and a velcro adjustable waistband to ensure no unwanted sag - no matter how many snacks, tools, phones, or beverages you stuff into the two hip pockets and right thigh beacon pocket. Speaking of beacon pockets, there was definitely a lot of thought put into optimizing this one. Not only does it have a loop to connect your beacon leash to, but it also has an internal elastic open mesh pocket to slide your beacon in. That way, if you want to use the pocket for other small items the beacon will still be securely in place and easy to access quickly in an emergency, rather than sloshing around with all your other bits and bobs. The large, zippered thigh vents dump heat well with a membrane sewn in, so you won’t be putting on a scandalous show on the up. Also convenient should you forget to close them before skiing down since they prevent your pants from being stuffed full of snow. If you thought there was no such thing as the best of both worlds, think again. The Dynafit Radical Infinium Hybrid Pant will keep you dry from the inside out as well as the outside in - thus making it the perfect pant for any and every ski touring mission.

  • GORE-TEX and Windstopper material is both breathable and highly water-resistant/windproof.
  • Strategically placed Dynastretch helps wick moisture out of all the areas you sweat the most.
  • Reinforced lower cuff protects against scuffing and wear-and-tear.
  • Large beacon pocket on the right thigh and two 2 hip pockets.
  • Belt loops and a velcro cinch keep the waist fitting snuggly.
  • Zippered thigh vents with breathable fabric.
  • Zippered cuff accommodates bigger boots and an internal elastic gaiter keeps snow out of your boots.

Question from Aaron

I have this pant in size Large and really like it - fits basically perfectly. I might buy a second pair, or consider something slightly more waterproof (but not much heavier or warmer), and slightly more relaxed fit. Any recommendations?

Answer from Gabriel I

Hi Aaron, this pant does have one of the more relaxed fits and burlier fabrics of the pants we carry. Dynafit's Tigard line of clothing might be what you're after.

Question from Nils Alb

Hi! I’d love your advice on sizing. I’m 6’2” tall 170lbs, waist 32.5in, hip 37in. Feel like medium would be right? Thanks so much in advance for your help!!

Answer from Emmett I

Nils,

A medium would probably work, you could also go with a large for a more relaxed fit. You might want to consider getting some suspenders as well, as you'll be compromising between height and waist.

Question from HBB

How does the fit compare between the Radical pant and the Mercury 2 pant?
12/7/2022
Answer from Tristan M

Hi HBB,

Both the Dynafit Radical Infinium Hybrid and Dynafit Mercury 2 pants will have more relaxed freeride cuts. The Radical Infinium has a slightly trimmer fit, primarily in the seat and the thighs.

Very happy with these pants. Using them for both resort skinning/skiing and low key skimo racing. They breathe going up and are warm enough with a light base layer going downhill. Really glad to have an XS option even if at 5’7” and 130 lbs it seems like I should be a small but these fit perfect. Pockets, waist adjustment and cuff zippers are all well designed.

Question from Gary

I buy a size 30 waist in most pants. Would I order XS O Small in these?
2/2/2022
Answer from Ian C

Hi Gary, based purely on your waist, the XS would be great but they will obviously be shorter through the inseam as well. If you are under 5'9 or so, or have shorter legs I would go for the XS.

Question from Sam

How do these compare in warmth/breathability/weather protection with the TLT Touring Pant?

Which would be a better choice for warmer spring tours?
12/28/2021
Answer from Ian C

Hi Sam, the Radical Infinium Hybrid contains weatherproof GoreTex Infinium and is slightly heavier weight, making it the warmer option of the two. Both pants have the same thigh zips. If you were looking for a breathable softshell for warmer spring tours, I would lean towards the TLT touring pant.
