Not for the faint of heart, the DNA Pro is Dynafit’s premier race ski, designed to help professional athletes with their journey to stand atop the podium. Starting with the Carbon-Isocore-Paulownia-Ultralight construction, Dynafit was able to keep the DNA Pro to an almost featherlike weight, meaning you won’t be weighed down during those painful anaerobic pushes. Compared to the DNA ski, the DNA Pro features a longer turning radius and stiffer flex, perfect for aggressive skiing to get ahead of your competition. With a full-length ABS sidewall, the DNA Pro has excellent power transfer and an uncanny ability to bite into firm conditions, ideal for those icy race courses. Befitting a high-end ski, the DNA Pro ships with Dynafit’s excellent Race Finish, which is guaranteed to make you faster. * If you find yourself hunting podiums on a regular basis, there is a good chance the Dynafit DNA Pro will suit you wonderfully.

  • Race Finish lets you focus on racing, not getting your skis stone ground.
  • Race Carbon Technology makes the ski precise.
  • Sidewall-Cap construction features a full-length sidewall, lending itself to excellent power transfer.
  • Carbon-Isocore-Paulownia Ultralight Construction (USP) is light and responsive.

*Not actually guaranteed to make you faster.

Update 2025/26: New topsheet is not guaranteed to make you faster... but it just might!

JAMES O (downright abused product)

The DNA pro is one of the best race ski options out there if you're skiing a lot of firm and/or icy conditions. It's super stiff both longitudinally and laterally. That, combined with basically no tail rocker makes it a champ on firm snow and ice, as well as a solid option for fitness laps on groomers. Really great edge hold.

Spent a lot of time in the backcountry with these, but also a ton of inbounds on groomers doing fitness laps and/or races. The hardest thing I did on them was a 40° firm chalky gully w/ carbon race boots which was hairy but doable. Hot powder or breakable crust skiing with these is an exercise in survival. With blower pow they are doable but still not great. IMO to get good at skiing race skis, you basically need to force yourself to use them all the time in all conditions.

Because of how stiff it is, coupled with its 24m radius, you need to be going pretty fast to initiate carving turns. Driving it slow and conservatively (which I definitely need to near the end of big vert days) is absolutely possible, but my turns became more skiddy/slarvy and less carvy.

Durability on these was solid but not great. I did about 250K vert on them before the camber got fully banged out. I eventually broke them around 300k.

These were paired with ATK Revolutions and PG Race 400s during their short but inspiring life. I went on to use Trab Garas, but would absolutely consider these again. Really great option for east coast skimo folks.

Compared to the Trab Gara WCs (I'm160lbs and have the 60 flex), the DNAs are stiffer and have better edge hold on ice. The Trabs have a bit of a tail rocker and thus a shoter overall effective edge. In most conditions I prefer the progressive flex that the Trabs have, but for really firm conditions the DNAs are better. The Trabs are significantly more durable. I have 250K into the Trabs and the camber is the same as the day I bought them.

Thanks for posting such an exhaustive/detailed review, especially w/ comparison to the trabs.

Question from Peter F

Hey Skimo co, I have a pair of these that have been mounted 2 times, the second time with an adjustment plate. i was wondering if you think it it would be safe to mount again. the shop I used mounted the adjustment plate and binding in a way that it makes it incompatible with my partners skis. I was looking to remount it again in a new spot. is that unsafe?

Answer from Carlos M

Hi Peter,

It is not inherently unsafe to do a third mount - you just need to make sure that you keep at least 10mm between the old holes and the new holes and plug the old holes to avoid water damage. Finding a position for a new mount can be challenging after two sets of holes have been drilled, but it's usually possible between moving the toe piece and the adjustment plate.

Question from Nick

I lucked into a pair of these, problem is they have been mounted twice now for non-race bindings. Currently on them are Speed Turns. Curious about hole patterns and if there are any race bindings that could use any holes from the current mount, or if putting a race binding on here would require a total remount.

Also on that note, if no holes are able to be re-used... in your wise opinions- would this ski survive another mount (would be the third)?

Hi Nick, three sets of holes might be pushing it on those. The Kreuzspitze K14 plates will let you adapt the Speed Turn heel pattern to RS or 120 / 150 heels. The matching toes will require two new holes.
