Question from Jeffrey F

Howdy. I have the Superlite Z12 heel piece. Only the Z10 fork/springs are available. Will that work fine? Thanks!
2/16/2024
Answer from jbo

Hi Jeffrey, the Z indicates the approximate release value. The Superlite 2.0 12 is now called the Superlite 175 which refers to its approximate weight. You want the Superlite 175 Z8 springs, which are the highest available for that binding and what ships with the 2.0/175 12.

Question from Oliver

Where can I find instructions to change these fork please ?
2/20/2023
Answer from jbo

Hi Oliver, there are not any printed instructions. You need to pound out the retaining pin with a pin punch and then back out the existing spring. Reverse the process to re-install.

Question from Dane

I'm looking for some replacement forks (preferably steel) for the older Dynafit low tech race. Is anything still available for that binding? Or are there any steel forks easily available from another maker that will work? Thanks!

Answer from Jeff

Dane, Sorry, most U Springs are rather specific to its binding. We don't know of any that are compatible with the old LTR.

Question from Jeffrey F

I have an older pair of the Superlight 2.0 (green heel piece). Just confused a little on which 175 Z I need--the 6 or 8. Thanks for your help here!
12/7/2022
Answer from jbo

Hi Jeffrey, if you had the green and black ones, get the 8. Green & white = 6.

I also have the superlite 2.0 12 and just broke the u spring. Could I be fine getting the 175 Z6 as it looks like the Z8 is not in stock? Iā€™m 155lb 6ā€™2ā€ intermediate skier and ski these on Salomon X-alps w Atomic race boots

Question from Jeffrey W

Hi, I have the old Superlight 2.0 and the new Z12 version as well. Are the replacement forks applicable to both bindings? (I only ask because in earlier comments, it is said that they were not replaceable) Finally, is there any difference between the two? or did the just bring it back rebranded? Thanks!

Answer from Will McD

Hey Jeffrey,
The replacement forks will indeed work with either the 2.0 or the Z12. You are correct that the Superlite 175 Z10/Z12 is just a renaming of the Superlite 2.0. Functionally they dialed down the vertical release from the original 2.0 to make stepping in easier, but mechanically both versions are exactly the same.

Question from Matt

are the LTR 2.0 heel pins replaceable? is that something you folks can source?
12/16/2021
Answer from Will McD

Hi Matt,
Unfortunately, we have not been able to order any from Dynafit. I would look into replacing the whole heel unit with that of the LTR 105 which we carry on this page.

Question from HSc

Hi, do you have new Dynafit forks for the Dynafit Superlite 2.0?
3/8/2021
Answer from Zak M

Hey HSc, currently we don't have any of Superlite 2.0 springs. Feel free to check back in this fall and hopefully we might have a few in stock. Thanks

Question from Ryan G

I am not sure what to call this, but you can see on the picture the piece of the binding that fell out of my dynafit superlite (I think 2.0?) I emailed dynafit directly and they said I had to buy a whole new heel piece. That seemed a little crazy to me since it was their binding that ultimately failed, but nonetheless. I am reaching out to you to see if you might sell a part/parts which I might be able to fix rather than replace this binding with? Thanks so much for your help with this question.

Answer from jbo

Hi Ryan, I would call that a lateral release assembly. Dynafit is right, though, and that part is not available separately. Might be able to help you with a warranty if you shoot us your order # or receipt. What did you have the lateral release set to? I would only think that could happen on very low settings, possibly below the minimum mark.

Answer from Ryan G

Thanks for getting back to me in record time! You guys are fast. I don't have an order number. Got the bindings from a friend a few years back. I doubt I had it set low. I should go look.

If I buy a new heel piece do you guys find uses for the remaining parts of this heel piece? The bindings still work, but I am guessing that without that lateral release assembly the ski won't release properly anymore?
12/29/2020
Answer from jbo

Hi Ryan, yes we can accept these heels as part of our recycling program, noting there is not much to part out on them. I think you'll find the release works a little too well with no springs!

Question from David

Is it still possible to get forks for the old Dynafit LTR ?
From prior questions it seems it was a challenge even 4 or 5 years ago.

And is there a trick to getting the push pin out - got one but it was a lot of effort.

Thanks
11/28/2020
Answer from Tristan M

Hi David,

Unfortunately, we no longer have any old Dynafit LTR forks in stock.

In terms of getting the pin out, it is knurled on one side, which means that it is easier to remove in one direction than it is in the other.

Question from Mike

Is it possible to get replacement works for the Dynafit Superlight 2.0 heel? In particular, I'm wondering if the fork from the white, DIN 10 version can be swapped into the black DIN 12 version. I'd like to reduce the forward release tension on my black version.
11/14/2018
Answer from Teddy Young

Hey Mike, it is physically possible to swap those springs, but unfortunately we don't sell it as a separate part! We do sell the Superlite 2.0 heels by themselves, but that's a little more expensive and you could just mount the whole new heel at that point. If you have another pair of Superlite 2.0 heels available, you could steal the springs from those!

Question from Andreas

Hi,

I got my hands on a pair of old Dynafit Low Tech Tourlite (I think) and i wounder if there is any spareparts to this one? I would like to replace the steel forks and if there are diffrent dins!? I would like replace the springs and if possible the plastic on the toepiecs. Do you know if I can use spareparts from some other model, the TLT bindings wich looks like my old ones!?
10/24/2018
Answer from Teddy Young

Hey Andreas, I love seeing this beautiful classic binding, especially disassembled and laid out so intentionally! We unfortunately don't have spare parts that will work for you, but please let me know if there's anything else I can do to help!

JDT (downright abused product)

Thanks Skimo for having all these spare parts!! I thoroughly notched my Low Tech 1.0 titanium pins after "downright abuse." Skimo had both ti and steel replacement pins for these legacy bindings, so I can continue use these otherwise perfectly good bindings. I bought the steel which should not notch and were less expensive, and they are working flawlessly.

My heel pins on LTR 2.0 are starting to wear out. Are these ones replaceable, and if so, where do you get them? Can't seem to find them here.

Answer from jbo

Hi Tim, unfortunately these aren't available as a part. You could take some from the RC1 heels.

Question from Marc

Will the LTR forks work on the SL 2.0? I have the first generation SL 2.0, black and green with DIN 12 and I'd like a lighter spring - DIN 8-10. Any possibility for a swap out?
11/2/2017
Answer from Trace Leches

Hey Marc, unfortunately there's no cross-over with the springs and as far as Dynafit is concerned the SL 2.0 springs aren't even removable. We haven't actually tried to get a spring out, as they've specifically warned against doing that, however it doesn't look any more complicated than just hammering out the lateral pin. Best I can do is point you towards some new heel units.

Do you anticipate getting the LTR steal or ti forks back in stock in the near future?

Answer from jbo

Hi Adam, we should have steel forks in the near future. Date is a bit fuzzy, it could be either early November or early December. Sorry for lack of precision, that is all we have at the moment.
