Hi - I‘m looking for a Palau replacement for the Scarpa GEA with a 25.0 last. Foot length is 247mm. Shall I go with the 25.0 option on the Palau tour lite pro eco?

Palau Tour Lite Pro Evo Liners
Palau is the liner supplier for Dynafit, La Sportiva, Fischer, and other well-known boot brands. This is because the 100% closed-cell EVA foam is highly moldable and offers great thermal retention. Being European, Palau of course didn’t forget to make their liners walk really well with strategic cutouts in the ankle and tongue-designs that don’t impede skinning. The Tour Lite Pro Evo liners are medium thickness, lightweight, with an Achilles flex zone and a Velcro closure. I have a problem with my toes getting cold in my Atomic Backland Carbon Boots(older model). Would this liner or the Intuition pro liner be best to help with that? My boot size is 25.5, you don't have the 25.5 in stock of this one, but would a 25 or 26 work?

Thanks for your question, Tyler! Both would be slightly warmer than the stock liner. If you end up with the Intuitions go with the 25. If you have a "one finger fit," go with the low volume. If you have a "finger and a half" fit, go with the medium volume. For this particular liner, the 25 would be the best option if the 25.5's are out of stock. Hey JMC, I would say that Tour Lite Pro Evo would be a pretty decent option. The Intuition pro tour is a pretty beefy liner and while it could take up that extra room you could see quite a bit of range of motion reduction. If you find that the Tour Lite Pro Evo still feels roomy, taking up that added space with a custom foot bed or shim could be a good option as well.

I'm needing to replace the liners in my Dynafit Mercury 27.5. Would you recommend the intuition Palau Tour Lite Pro Evo, Palau Tour Lite Pro, or Intuition Pro Tour. Is there much of difference in weight between the three? What size Intuition Liner would be best 27 or 28? I have a pretty medium volume foot and the stock liners worked well but they have packed out and are torn near the achilles.

Hey Brent, the Tour Lite Pro Evo or Power LT liners could both be good options. The Intuition Pro Tour will be the beefiest out of those three but depending on how much overall volume you need to take up in the boot it could be a good option. If you were to go the Intuition route I would stick with the 27 size option to be most compatible with the shell size of the Dynafit boot.

Thanks for your question, Alex. Either the 28.0/28.5 would work! The 28.5 will be a bit lengthier in the toe, and the 28.0 will be about 5mm shorter. If you are looking to take up some extra space, going with a heftier liner might be the way to go. The Palau Power LT is 1mm thicker, and would take up some of that extra volume. If you are just swimming in space, going with a burlier option like the Intuition Pro Tour may even be necessary. Check out this link for information on selecting volume for intuition liners.

I have a set of TLT7 boots that I love with the exception of them having too much space in the toe box. It makes them feel really imprecise in downhill mode. They're good in the arch, heel and ankle. Would these liners take up that toe volume? Are there others you would recommend? Thanks!

Hey Patrick, these would be an excellent choice for your TLT7s, although I'd say that you might want to refrain from heat-molding them in order to keep some additional volume in the front of the liner.

Do you think the Palau Tour Lite Pro Evo would work well in the Atomic 2018 Backland carbon shell? What size would you run in a 28.5 shell? Any better reccomendations? Low volume boney ankles.

Chris, this will work fine in there. The Evo is the thicker one and should give you a bit more thickness in the ankle then the stock liner. Size 28.5 is right.

Chris -- another option would be the Cross Fit Tour liner from Scarpa/Intuition if you want a thinner liner with firmer foam. It would still have more padding around the ankles than the stock liners, and would stick out of the cuff of the boot less than the Palau TLPEs do (which is not a huge problem, but a minor disadvantage on flatter skintracks).

I have a pair of Fischer Travers CC boots, size 27.5. I have gone on about a dozen tours and several resort days. I cannot seem to make these boots comfortable for skiing downhill, I had my foot pull out of the boot when I crashed once. If I tighten the cuff down, it is very painful, and makes skiing miserable. I tried a set of aftermarket tongues, not very much improvement. Which liner would you recommend? I don't mind it being heavier if it makes this boot work for me, or should I cut my losses and get a different touring boot altogether? I tend to ski steep slopes with long approaches in powder and choppy conditions.

I have a 26.5 TLT7 performance that's wide for me. I've added padding along one side of the liner foot and also built up the cuff area at the lower shin and upper calf. That helped a lot to reduce shin bang and improve cuff support. Would the Palau Tour Lite Pro Evo or the Power LT be the better replacement liner?

Hi Steve, the Tour Lite Pro Evo would take up a bit more volume in the boot without changing your ankle articulation too much. The Power LT would significantly change the fit of the boot and lessen ankle articulation.

I had some size 28.5 TLT7s that felt good width wise, but toe was bumping up a little too close for comfort. So, I traded up for a size 29. Length feels better but now a little roomy. Figured I’d have to change the liner—was looking at the intuition pro tour to fill out the space but saw you pointed someone else toward the Palau evo. Does this seem like a good fit? Would a 29.5 work? Other suggestions?

Jon, this liner is about as thick in the foot area. But less so in the cuff which will be better for a TLT7. If you don't have a foot bed, some Green Superfeet would help too.

Hi Jon, assuming you're using the relatively thin Custom Light liner in the TLT7 Performance, the Tour Lite Pro or Pro Evo would both be good choices -- slightly thicker than the stock but not so stiff as to reduce ankle articulation. The 29.5 should work in a 29/29.5 TLT7 shell, although it may be a bit longer in the toe box than what you have now. Check back later in the fall for a 29.0 coming our way.

Which liner would be the best replacement for a Fischer Travers Carbon that would take up more volume in foot and calf, be at least the same height as the stock liner, and be compatible with the boot gaiter upon insertion and removal? Would it be the Tour Lite Pro Evo, the Power Track LT, the Intuition Pro Tour, or something else?

Scott, this would be your best choice. To take up more volume you would want the Intution Pro in medium. it would be a bit taller, a lot thicker and stiffer in the cuff. And you might lose a bit in range of motion.

Hey there, my wife is looking for new liners for her Black Diamond Swift boots. The main issue with her current liners is that there is hard foam that cradles the Achilles area above her calcaneus (sp? heel bone) that makes wearing the boots very uncomfortable. She's used liners from friends boots and can confirm that the issue is with the liners not the boot shell. Can you describe the interior of this liner and let us know whether this liner has a similar construction?

Hey Garrison. Calcaneus looks like it's spelled correctly to me! You can grammar good. This liner does not have a burly foam heel cup, so I think it would work there, but I am a little bit worried that this liner may give her another set of issues because it's relatively thin when compared to the BD Swift, so she may develop some play once it's packed out.
