Once I added pick weights to a pair of these, they replaced my Nomics for fast and light ski mountaineering missions on ice up to WI3+. So long as you keep the tip sharp for good purchase and the ridge on the top sharp for easy cleaning, they will be all you need for most alpine objectives.

I have owned a half dozen pairs of these and find that they are significantly more durable and longer lasting than the Pomoca Free Pro (pink) skins, have much better glide than the Kohla mohair skin, and the glue is more user-friendly than the Coltex option. While I haven't logged time on the V-Crest, yet, I have been using the 'ATK Release 10' for years (a predecessor to this binding) and have loved it on setups ranging from 85-112 underfoot.
