You don’t need ‘em until you do! You know that snow type. Too steep and firm to skin. Too punchy to boot. Ski crampons are the only fix. These shiny widgets from Salomon and Atomic work with the Shift binding. Slide the crampons in from the side and step on ‘em to engage the firm snow. Hopefully this stops you from sliding to the bottom of the mountain. Say no to snow-rash with the Salomon Shift Ski Crampons.

Size Weight Inner Width*
100mm 108g 105mm
120mm 112g 125mm

*Your skis cannot be wider than this at the position of your ski crampons (just behind the toe piece).

Question from Tim

Do the Salomon Shift ski crampons work with Salomon MTN bindings?
12/4/2021
Answer from Cole P

Hello Tim, the Salomon shift ski crampons are only compatible with the Shift bindings. Both Dyanfit and Plum crampons are compatible with the Salomon MTN and Atomic Backland bindings, with a preference towards the Plum. If you have any other questions on compatibility, we have put together a ski crampon/binding compatibility chart, here.

Question from colin bennett

Are there any other crampons that fit s-lab bindings, the 100mm are too small for my 106;s and 120mm feels too big? I need a mid size!
11/27/2021
Answer from Zak M

Hey Colin, unfortunately only Shift Crampons will work with the binding and you would need to go up that 120mm size. Let us know if you have any other questions.

Question from Kat

I am looking at buying a pair of Volkl Blaze 94 womens

I want to use salomon s lab shift mnc 10s, with a 90mm brake (should fit on a 94 mm wide ski right, i read it will bend and maybactually alreayd be 98mm)

Will the 100mm crampons work with the 90mm binding?
10/23/2021
Answer from Brett S

Thanks for reaching out, Kat. The 90mm brake would be able to be stretched to fit a 94mm ski. The 100mm crampon will definitely work with the 90mm brake. Please let us know if you have any other questions!

Question from Vernon M

Teddy - could I use the Plum universal crampon mounts behind the AFD on a Shift binding and the Plum 110mm crampons on a Backland 109mm underfoot? Or would there be no pressure on the top of the crampon?
5/14/2021
Answer from Will McD

Hi Kip,
I just put a ski crampon and boot on a Shift to check. You are correct that the boot is too high to put any pressure onto the ski crampon. Also, unless you have a very long boot, it's likely that the back of the crampon will end up resting on the ski/walk lever and brake, preventing it from even reaching the snow.

Question from Patrick Mullen

Has anyone tried these on the Salomon QST 106 with Shift bindings? I'm assuming 120mm is the size I need but am worried it will be a bit too big. Any luck getting the 100mm to fit on a ski that size?
3/9/2021
Answer from Will M

Hey Patrick,

The 120mm will be the move for the QST 106! You'll have a bit of space in-between the ski and the crampon but shouldn't be an issue. Sadly ski crampons are not able to be stretched in the same ways that binding brakes can.

Hello,

I have the g3 findr 105mm underfoot. Which one would be the best crampon for me?
12/16/2020
Answer from Zak M

Hey Gilberto, the 100mm crampons should work in theory. You might have to go up to the 120mm brake though.

Question from Erica

Hello! I have the Shift bindings on a Volkl Yumi with an 84mm waist. Will the 100mm fit alright?
12/14/2020
Answer from Julieana

Hi Erica, those will feel a bit wide and clunky but they will work. Salomon does not currently make them in a smaller width so the 100mm will be the one you'll want to go with.

Question from Mafee

Hi, I have a black crow ova freebird which waist is 85mm, and my bindings are salomon shift MNC 13 with 90mm width breaks. My equipment will work well with the 100mm width crampons or not?
11/12/2020
Answer from Julieana

Hey Mafee, The 100mm crampon will technically work, although that's definitely going to be very wide for that ski. Unfortunately they don't have crampons any narrower than that for this particular binding.

Hi all, I ride a pair of Black Crows Navis Freebirds, with a 102mm waist. Do you think I'm safe to order the 100mm version? Thanks!
4/9/2020
Answer from Cole P

Hey Stephen, the crampons fit skis that 100mm at the waist and under. I recommend going to 120mm wide crampon.

Question from Max McLaughlin

Have the atomic shifts mounted on salomon QST 106 (womens). Really dont want to go with 120mm ski crampons for this ski bc i feel like it'd be way to wide and cumbersome. Thoughts on if i could make the "100mm" version work? It sounds like it's actual inner width is likely around 105mm? I have a vise at home and think I could bend em out 1mm no prob... hehe
3/12/2020
Answer from Teddy Young

Hey Max, thanks for reaching out! I’d say that’s a bit too close to call without taking a pair of calipers to the ski and measure width immediately behind the toe unit. Bending can be tricky, as some aluminum alloys/heat treatments can tend to crack rather than bend.

I have Solomon MTN tech bindings with brakes. I may need ski crampons for DPS zelda's, 106 under foot. Which ski crampon works with that binding?

Cynthia,

The 110mm ski crampon from Plum would be a great choice for your setup: https://skimo.co/plum-ski-crampons. Hope this helps!

Question from Marta

Do you think the 100mm crampons would fit On black crows 90mm? Not have this size!!
2/10/2020
Answer from Patrick C

Marta,

Unfortunately, the Shift ski crampons do not come any smaller than 100mm wide. With a ski that is 90mm at the waist it will work well enough.
