Question from Tish

I have the Dynafit ST Rotation 10 bindings, and am looking to switch to a narrower set of brakes. Would the Radical ST brakes be compatible?
(As far as I can tell the heel units are identical, but Dynafit's naming is pretty confusing...)
Thank you in advance!
11/9/2021
Answer from Brett S

Thanks for reaching out, Tish. While the base plates look similar, they're in fact not compatible, sorry about that! The reason lies in the ST rotation is a zero gapped binding with forward pressure whereas the ST Radical isn't. Please let us know if you have any other questions!

Answer from jbo

Hi Ryan, there are a bunch of brakes in this listing. If you select Superlite, XXmm from the drop down, you will get XX width brakes for the Superlite 150.

Question from Galen H

I’ve got ST Radicals w/ 100mm brake and want to remount to a 118mm ski. Just want to double check — will the Radical ST 130mm be the best choice of what you have in stock? Here is the binding I’ve got: https://www.dynafit.com/en-us/st-radical-100mm-08-0000049115

Answer from Tristan M

Hi Galen,

Yes, the 130mm Radical ST brakes will be the best option for skis with a waist width of 118mm. Generally, brakes can be stretched up to 6mm to accommodate a wider ski. However, 18mm will be far too much for the 100mm Radical ST brakes.

Question from Marcos

Hi there ! Is the radical ST brake compatible with the Rotation 12 binding? Or are they different?
9/22/2021
Answer from Cole P

Hey Marcos, the ST brakes are not compatible with the Rotation bindings. If you look at the drop-down menu above you can see the Rotation brake option toward the bottom.

Hi, I have the Superlite bindings mounted to 95mm wide skis. Would the 90mm brakes work, or would I need to find the 105mm brakes somewhere else? Thanks

Answer from Teddy Young

Hey John, thanks for reaching out! I think the 90mm brakes could work for you, maybe with just a tiny bit of bending.

Question from Vinz

I am looking to add brakes to this Dynafit Radical Speed binding and was wondering which ones are the right ones.

My skis are a bit less than 80 mm wide.
4/4/2021
Answer from Jeff

Vinz, the Speed Radical is the Brakeless version of the Radical ST binding. Dynafit does not make a brake that fits directly onto this binding plate.
You can get the Radical ST, 82mm brake, remove your heels and take the turret off and add to the Brake. The Brake has the same mounting pattern as your binding.

Thanks much Jeff! What about the Kreuzspitze Heel Brake 85 mm? Would that also be a suitable alternative? Which do you think is the better solution for my daughter who may do more resort than backcountry skiing but would like to be able to switch back and forth: https://skimo.co/kreuzspitze-heel-brakes

Vinz, I was going to mention that too. Really. That will work too.

Question from Irina

Hello, I am re-mounting Dynafit TLT Radical ST 2.0 Bindings 120mm to 90mm-skis and want to get new breaks.
Will Radical ST 92mm be good replacement? Is there anything else I need? Thank you
3/24/2021
Answer from Tristan M

Hi Irina,

The Radical ST brakes will not be compatible with the Dynafit Radical ST 2.0. The Radical 2.0 has been succeeded by the Dynafit ST Rotation. In both bindings, the brake is integrated into the baseplate, so you will need to replace the baseplate to get those narrower brakes.

Based on the new waist width of your ski, the ST Rotation 90mm brakes should work great!

Question from Scott

I have some unused Dynafit beast 14s in 120 mm, what are my options to replace the brakes w/105mm?
3/16/2021
Answer from Brett S

Thanks for your question, Scott. You'll need a new baseplate, which we don't carry for that particular binding. Since the binding has been out of circulation for quite a while, we would encourage you to reach out to Dynafit. Please let us know if you have any other questions!

Question from Dustin

Any chance the super lite 105s will fit 108 skis?
3/8/2021
Answer from Zak M

Hey Dustin, the 105mm brakes should work well with those 108mm skis. You would just need to bend the brakes slightly to fit, but definitely doable.

Question from Annie

Hi,
For a 120mm width ski with radical ST binding, would the 130mm radical ST brakes fit ok? And are the rotation ST brakes different from the radical ST brakes? Could you do the 120mm rotation ST brake with a radical binding?
Thanks!
3/6/2021
Answer from Tristan M

Hi Annie,

The 130mm Radical ST Brakes will certainly work! They will overhang 5mm per side, which should not affect your skiing when retracted. However, the ST Rotation brakes will not be compatible with the Radical ST binding!

Question from Emily

Hi,

I have skis that are a 105 waist and I'm thinking about buying a set of used Dynafit ST Radical 2.0 bindings that have 102mm brakes. Will those squeeze on there and work? If not, what brakes should I buy to fit this binding and my skis? Thanks!
3/3/2021
Answer from jbo

Hi Emily, they can be hard to measure. The options for the Radical 2.0 were 90mm or 105mm. You definitely want the 105s.

Question from Jakub K.

Hi, I have old dynfait tristep and looking for brakes 105 or 110. I checked the list of compatible but don`t know which is the best one for this type of binding.
Is Radical removable brake the right one ?
2/13/2021
Answer from Brett S

Thanks for your question, Jakub. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that we have any brakes that are going to be compatible with the Tri Step. Sorry about that! We're stoked to see that those bindings are still operating after 20 years! Happy skiing!

Question from Claire

Hello - I have the Speed 12 tech bindings and am looking to add on brakes. My ski is 98 underfoot. Would the 90mm work or do I need to size up to the 105s?
2/11/2021
Answer from Brett S

Thanks for your question, Claire! You might be able to narrowly slide by with the 90mm, but the 105mm option would be the most surefire fit. Please let us know if you have any other questions!

Is it still possible to purchase the Radical FT brakes in 110mm width? Or, could I instead use the 110mm ST brakes on FT bindings?

Here’s a photo to clarify which bindings I own.

Hey Thomas, thanks for reaching out and send a photo! The Radical FT brakes are no longer available, but the Radical ST brakes should work perfectly for you!

Sam-You need the ST rotation brake in a 105mm for that binding.

Question from Thomas E Mascharka

Hello I was looking to repair this brake, I am unsure of its current model I believe it is the radical FT 2.0. The ski is 117 mm under foot. Should I order the radical FT 130 mm? or the ST rotation 120?

Answer from Julieana

Hey Thomas, yes that's the Radical FT 2.0. The ST Rotation 120 will be the one you'll want to go with!

Question from Krystle

Hello,

I accidentally ordered the Dynafit ST Rotation 10 in 135mm but I need the 90mm. Can I just order the ST Rotation 90mm brakes/base plate and replace the current 135mm heel piece with the 90mm?
1/12/2021
Answer from Krystle M

The 135mms are already mounted onto my skis. I am wanting to know if the holes will line up or if the shop will have to make new holes?
1/12/2021
Answer from jbo

Hi Krystle, whoops! You'd think the installer would give you a heads up. But yes, the 90mm baseplate/brake assembly fits in the same holes as the 135. It does require unmounting the heels from the ski to do the swap.

Answer from Krystle M

Well I think the language barrier as I’m in Germany didn’t help! I’ll order the 90s now!! Thank you!!

Question from Joseph D

Hello

I just purchased a 105mm underfoot ski and want to swap my 2016 Dynafit Radical FTs over from my other setup. The current brakes are 120mm, which I know is too wide. Since the FTs are discontinued, is there another brake that is compatible with that binding? Or do I need to replace the bindings completely?

Also, what's the ideal brake width for a 105mm ski?

Thanks!
12/21/2020
Answer from jbo

Hi Joseph, for the original Radical FT (we call them 1.0), you would want the 110mm brakes. However, if your current brakes are 120mm, that makes me suspect you actually have a Radical FT 2.0, since that brake width exists with the 2.0 and not the 1.0. If that's the case, you would want the 105mm Rotation brakes.

If you want to be certain which model you need, please send us a photo of your binding! help@skimo.co
12/21/2020
Answer from Joseph D

Thanks for the quick response! I'm not positive on the exact model since I can't find the old receipt, but I measured the brakes again and they are indeed 120mm.

12/21/2020
Answer from jbo

Hi Joseph, yep, that is the 2.0! You want the ST Rotation 105 brakes. The FT 2.0 is now called the ST Rotation 12 binding (with a few tweaks).
