Moving Dynafit bindings from one ski to another often requires a brake change to accommodate the new width. Brakes can also get damaged. Please note ► The Dynafit brakes listed below the line are priced individually so you will need two if switching skis or one if fixing damage. The brakes have a few millimeters of wiggle room, so a 100mm brake will work on a ski slightly over 100mm in underfoot width. If you're looking for brakes for a Dynafit Speed Radical or Speed Turn bindings, check out the Kreuzspitze Heel Brakes!

Question from Michelle

Hi, need a new break for mi ski. I thinks I have the demo or rental radical st and my skies are 106. Which break should I buy?

Answer from Ian C

Hi Michelle, looks like you've got the Radical ST 2.0, which means the best brakes for your bindings/skis would be the ST Rotation 105mm!

Question from Sam Provencher

Hi, I have old Radical ST 100mm that I put on my new qst118 skis.

I don't think bending the brakes is an option. What brakes of the above should I buy.

Also, I don't want to drill new holes in my ski, I think my actual binding is the "rental" version.

Thanks,

Sam

Answer from Tristan M

Hi Sam,

The rental version of the Radical ST should have the same hole pattern in the heel, which will free you up for a baseplate swap on the same hole pattern. For the most snug fit, the Radical ST 110mm W/ Baseplate x1 will probably work with brake stretching. Otherwise, if you would like to keep the rental theme, the Radical ST Rental 130mm x1 will also work.

Hi Paul, Sorry, do not have anything to help now. The widest was 110mm and I have taken in used before, but none now.

Question from Ben

One brake snapped through the baseplate of my binding today - and the other has now reactively bent over too and is cracking through the baseplate. I bought them unused but from marketplace - I believe they are Radical FT,

Would I be able to replace this single binding at home without a remount if I bought the item : “ Radical FT 110mm w/ Baseplate x1” listed above?

Pics attached

Thank you!

Thanks

Hi Ben. It looks like you have a Radical St 2.0 there. You can replace the brakes here . It will be the rotation brakes and it looks like right now we only have the 90mm version but are expecting more widths soon.

Will the LTR brakes at 68mm fit and function on the Movement Race Pro 71 with a little tweaking?

Hi Ted,

The LTR, 68mm brakes should be able to squeak by on the Race Pro 71 with minimal or no tweaking.

Question from Calvin

Hi,

I have some old brakeless TLTs, one of which has a broken baseplate. Are my heel pieces compatible with the Radical ST brakes? I'd like to add brakes anyways, and it's my understanding that the Radical ST sort of replaced the TLTs, but I'm not sure if the heel pieces are compatible in this way. See photo - thanks!

Answer from jbo

Hi Calvin, unfortunately the Radical ST has a larger diameter spindle along with differing detents. They are not compatible.

Question from Sam

Hello, do you think a 90mm dynafit rotation break will work with a 95mm underfoot Blizzard zero G ? thanks for the help!
11/15/2021
Answer from Tristan M

Hi Sam,

Depending on the binding, brakes can generally be stretched up to 5-6mm. Rotation brakes are especially solid, and would most likely stretch from 90mm to 95mm without issue.

Question from Karl

I have Dynafit Radical ST with broken brake spring. I've been told that the base plate and tower are a single unit and the whole heel piece needs to be replaced. It was purchased in August 2019. Mounted on a DPS 106 ski.
11/15/2021
Answer from Tristan M

Hi Karl,

Sadly, the brakes are indeed completely integrated into the baseplate. If you would like to chat about replacement options, please reach out to us at help@skimo.co!

Question from Tish

I have the Dynafit ST Rotation 10 bindings, and am looking to switch to a narrower set of brakes. Would the Radical ST brakes be compatible?
(As far as I can tell the heel units are identical, but Dynafit's naming is pretty confusing...)
Thank you in advance!
11/9/2021
Answer from Brett S

Thanks for reaching out, Tish. While the base plates look similar, they're in fact not compatible, sorry about that! The reason lies in the ST rotation is a zero gapped binding with forward pressure whereas the ST Radical isn't. Please let us know if you have any other questions!

Hi Ryan, there are a bunch of brakes in this listing. If you select Superlite, XXmm from the drop down, you will get XX width brakes for the Superlite 150.

Question from Galen H

I’ve got ST Radicals w/ 100mm brake and want to remount to a 118mm ski. Just want to double check — will the Radical ST 130mm be the best choice of what you have in stock? Here is the binding I’ve got: https://www.dynafit.com/en-us/st-radical-100mm-08-0000049115
10/7/2021
Answer from Tristan M

Hi Galen,

Yes, the 130mm Radical ST brakes will be the best option for skis with a waist width of 118mm. Generally, brakes can be stretched up to 6mm to accommodate a wider ski. However, 18mm will be far too much for the 100mm Radical ST brakes.

Hi there ! Is the radical ST brake compatible with the Rotation 12 binding? Or are they different?

Hey Marcos, the ST brakes are not compatible with the Rotation bindings. If you look at the drop-down menu above you can see the Rotation brake option toward the bottom.

Hi, I have the Superlite bindings mounted to 95mm wide skis. Would the 90mm brakes work, or would I need to find the 105mm brakes somewhere else? Thanks

Hey John, thanks for reaching out! I think the 90mm brakes could work for you, maybe with just a tiny bit of bending.

Question from Vinz

I am looking to add brakes to this Dynafit Radical Speed binding and was wondering which ones are the right ones.

My skis are a bit less than 80 mm wide.
4/4/2021
Answer from Jeff

Vinz, the Speed Radical is the Brakeless version of the Radical ST binding. Dynafit does not make a brake that fits directly onto this binding plate.
You can get the Radical ST, 82mm brake, remove your heels and take the turret off and add to the Brake. The Brake has the same mounting pattern as your binding.

Answer from Vinz K

Thanks much Jeff! What about the Kreuzspitze Heel Brake 85 mm? Would that also be a suitable alternative? Which do you think is the better solution for my daughter who may do more resort than backcountry skiing but would like to be able to switch back and forth: https://skimo.co/kreuzspitze-heel-brakes

Question from Irina

Hello, I am re-mounting Dynafit TLT Radical ST 2.0 Bindings 120mm to 90mm-skis and want to get new breaks.
Will Radical ST 92mm be good replacement? Is there anything else I need? Thank you
3/24/2021
Answer from Tristan M

Hi Irina,

The Radical ST brakes will not be compatible with the Dynafit Radical ST 2.0. The Radical 2.0 has been succeeded by the Dynafit ST Rotation. In both bindings, the brake is integrated into the baseplate, so you will need to replace the baseplate to get those narrower brakes.

Based on the new waist width of your ski, the ST Rotation 90mm brakes should work great!

Question from Scott

I have some unused Dynafit beast 14s in 120 mm, what are my options to replace the brakes w/105mm?
3/16/2021
Answer from Brett S

Thanks for your question, Scott. You'll need a new baseplate, which we don't carry for that particular binding. Since the binding has been out of circulation for quite a while, we would encourage you to reach out to Dynafit. Please let us know if you have any other questions!

Question from Dustin

Any chance the super lite 105s will fit 108 skis?
3/8/2021
Answer from Zak M

Hey Dustin, the 105mm brakes should work well with those 108mm skis. You would just need to bend the brakes slightly to fit, but definitely doable.
