We’re not sure but we think the “S” stands for “Super”. The new Pomoca Super treatment on the old reliable Climb Pro Glide skins makes them even better at sliding. The friction coefficient is now more akin to racing formulas than to similar mohair-mix skins. Good sliding technique will be rewarded with up to 20% energy savings on an average climb, a figure extrapolated from recent lab tests. The Climb Pro S-Glides are 70% mohair, 30% nylon, and 100% fast. The skins feature the manageable Pomoca glue formula and easy-to-use tip brackets and tail clips. These are likely the default skin choice for interested ski tourers.

  • Safer Skin Light membrane is waterproof, tear-resistant, and tends to hold its hairs in place.
  • Ever Dry 2.0 is a water-shedding treatment that prevents potentially heavy water soakage.
  • S-Glide concoction is applied at the end to give you a lifelong friction-reducing stride.
  • ClickLock is a tip system that allows you to swap square brackets to match your ski tips.
  • Adjustable tail clips ride up and down a thick stretchy strap that is notched for a good hold.
  • Kits come with a trimmer that is much easier to use than the letter-opener style skin trimmers.
  • Includes a skin bag for carrying your climbers and for long-term storage across seasons.
  • Skins come with tips attached (except Universal length), otherwise known as "Back Fix" in Pomoca-speak.
  • Universal Kits - 185cm of material with tails attached; cut to ski length and attach the 85mm or 95mm wide tip buckles (both included) before trimming.
  • No Tips - A Universal Kit without the tip hardware...attach race bungees or your favorite touring tips.

Update 2020/21: The S-Glide skins are now made with thinner backing material and they have redesigned Click Lock tip attachments and tail hooks that enhance durability. The skins are about 40g lighter out of the box with the same grip and amazing glide. They now come in a zippered hard case.

Update 2024/25: Pomoca is phasing these out in favor of new tip and tail hardware on the new Tour Pro skins.

Question from Tijmen

Thanks doe your response!
Is the difference between the grip minimal if the ski isnt fully covered in the skins or is it Noticeable? (140 mm or 120 mm with ski width 142-111-129)
Greetings Tijmen
11/23/2024
Answer from Carlos M

Hi Tijmen,

It would be noticable on steep, firmer side-hills. With good skinning technique, not a huge problem. Either could work, but if you plan to use this setup in firm spring conditions, or if you are less confident in your skinning technique, you might benefit from the extra coverage.

Hi,
To add to my last question
What length should I get for my 191 skis?

Hi Tijmen,

For a 191cm ski, get the 185-200cm length!

Question from Tijmen

Hi,
I have the Head Kore 111 (142,111,129) in 191 length, would you suggest the 120 mm or the 140 mm's.
Greetings Tijmen
11/22/2024
Answer from Carlos M

Hi Tijmen,

You most likely want the 140mm width, if you want full coverage at the tail for grip. The 120mm will sacrifice a little bit of grip, but will glide better.

Question from Pete

Which skins would you recommend for 2024 Blizzard Hustle 10s [188cm 135/104/124]- Pomoca Climb Pro S-Glide (120mm, 175-190cm), or the orange Blizzard Precut skins? Will the precut even work with Hustle skis?
11/20/2024
Answer from Carlos M

Hi Pete,

We do not sell precut skins for the Hustle 10, because we don't carry the Hustle. Blizzard does offer a precut skin for that ski, but you will not find it on our website. Precut skins for the Zero G skis will not work on the Hustle - the tip attachments are not compatible.

I would go with the Pomocas! They are great skins, and just need to be trimmed.

Question from Pete

What size Pomoca Climb Pro S-Glide Skins would you recommend for Blizzard Hustle 10s [188cm 135/104/124]?
11/20/2024
Answer from Carlos M

Hi Pete,

I would go with the 175-190cm length and the 120mm width. This would give you a more minimal amount of skin material with sufficient grip and great glide. If you wanted to maximize grip, you could size up to the 140cm width.

Question from Allie Lowy

Hi there -- I have the Volkl 100Eight W as my touring skis -- they're 157 cm, widths are 141/108/124 mm, what width would you recommend for these skins? 140? Thanks!
11/10/2024
Answer from jbo

Hi Allie, most of us here would go with the 120s since that is full coverage in the tails and they will fold in half cleanly. It's plenty of grip since you don't really get much climbing benefit from the widest part of the tip of your ski. That said, some folks want every mm of coverage and go with the 140s.

I'm excited to get out there this season with new LINE Vision 108 skis (142-108-128 mm) at 183 length. What skin size would you recommend?
11/8/2024
Answer from Carlos M

Hi Ben,

You will want the 175-190cm length. For width, 140mm will provide maximum grip. 120mm will grip slightly less, but glide better, and pack up smaller.

Question from Abey Qureshi

Looking for skins for my Peak 98SC, length 178cm, 126-98-114. What will be the best size skins for this? Thx!
10/29/2024
Answer from Carlos M

Hi Abey,

You will want the 120mm width. For length, you can go with the shorter 165-180cm size for better glide and lighter weight, or you could choose the 175-190cm and have more skin material for more grip. I would lean towards the shorter option, but it does come down to personal preference.

Question from victoria

Hi there,

What size would you recommend for the Moment Bellas (134-108-127) in 162 cm? Thank you!
5/10/2024
Answer from Carlos M

Hi Victoria,

Personally, I would go with the 120mm width, for a bit better glide and less excess skin material to fold up. It would be wide enough to have plenty of grip still. However, if you want to absolutely maximize grip, you could go for the 140cm width which would completely cover the base. For length, you will want the 155-170cm option.

Question from Nathan

Hi guys,

Just want to double check for a pair of atomic backland 95 (128-95-116 [177]) would you recommend the 120mm x 165-180 based on the the tail width or go wider to accommodate the tip?

And can you recommend a skin accessory part to set these up to use the notched tip on the Atomics?

Thanks in advance!
4/20/2024
Answer from jbo

Hi Nathan, yes that is the recommended size for that ski, plenty of coverage. The Dynafit rubber tips can be put in the Pomoca tip system, though you could also get the cheaper "No Tips" kit above and then attached a race bungee or fold the skin over the metal bar on the Dynafit tips (punching a hole for the rubber part to poke through) and rivet.

Question from Josh

My new skis are 171cm with 126-98-117 dimensions. You recommend 120 width? What about length? Would I be sacrificing performance if I went with the 155-170cm length or do you recommend the next size up? Thanks.
4/11/2024
Answer from Carlos M

Hi Josh,

Yes, you will want the 120mm width, it will give you essentially full coverage. For length, in this case I would go with the 165-180cm length. You may not have quite enough tail strap with the shorter length as your 171cm ski technically falls outside of the range. If you've tried it and you know it works, and you don't mind having a very short tail strap to grab, then go for it - nothing wrong with a shorter cut skin. But to be safe I would recommend the next size up as a default.

Question from Fuzz

I'm looking for the right size Climb Pro S-Glide skin for 2023 Black Crow Navis FreeBird 173cm (dimensions are roughly 139 - 102 - 121). What would be my best bet? Pomoca's website recommends 130mm x 165-180cm but I only see 120 and 140 widths available here. Thanks!
4/7/2024
Answer from jbo

Hi Fuzz, the skin-makers like to recommend full-coverage skins. In our experience, getting full coverage in the tail is sufficient, so the 120mm works fine on the Navis and creates less exposed glue when you fold the skins in half. There are no 130s in these parts but you could get 140s and trim for full coverage in the tip.

Question from Hannah

Hi there! Looking at buying the climb pro s-glide for my k2 mindbenders. They are the 116c and size 170. Was looking at the 120mm and 165-180cm. Would that be a good choice?
3/26/2024
Answer from Gabriel I

Hi Hannah, we generally size skin width by the tail width of the ski. Those have a 132mm tail, so the 120mm might be a bit narrow. The 140mm would offer better grip, especially on off-camber skintracks. The 165-180cm length is good for a 170cm ski.

Question from Henriette L

Hey, there. I have a pair of Blizzard Zero G 85 that I'd like to get these for. The skis are 167cm. What size would you recommend? I don't mind trimming them myself, if need be. Thanks!
Henriette
3/18/2024
Answer from Carlos M

Hi Henriette,

I would go with the 100mm width, 155-170cm length. You could also go with the 165-180cm length but then you will have very full coverage to the end of the tail, more than I'd personally want!

You will need to trim them, but the included Pomoca trim tool works well.

I recently bought these skins and the glue seems to be peeling and balling up. They still stick well. Is this normal / expected?

Thanks,

Not exactly normal, no, but glad to hear they're still working for you. If you bought them from us, or have the original purchase receipt, we can potentially help you with a warranty if you email us at warranty@skimo.co.

Question from Kim

Hi I ordered the pomoca climb pro s-glide in size 140 mm and 175-190 cm lengrh. However now that I have got them, they are only about 165 cm long (skin length) which leaves quite a lot of ski without skin in the tail of my 186 cm 106 Ripsticks.

Are 175-190 skins supposed to be only 165 cm in length? Or has something gone wrong with my order? On the cardboard that is around the storing pack it says 175-190 cm? But….???

Bedt regards, Kim
3/1/2024
Answer from jbo

Hi Kim, that is correct. You don't get a lot of grip out of the skin at the end of the ski, especially on skis with a lot of tail rocker that would lift the skin off the ground. That said, you can get the next length up if you prefer max coverage and having more tail strap to grab.

Thanks a lot for the prompt response. So you think I’ll be ok with the skins even if there is about 15-20 cm of base exposed in the tail of the ski?

The problem is I probably won’t have time to order and receive the size XL before I have to go on my touring trip….
3/1/2024
Answer from Carlos M

Hi Kim,

I have owned two pairs of Pomoca skins and both are the 165-180cm length, paired with 177 and 179cm skis - so near the minimum amount of skin material possible. I have never wanted the longer length. Especially since you opted for the 140mm width on a 106mm ski, you will have full coverage everywhere. I doubt you will be lacking for grip.

Question from Wyatt

Would you recommend the 120mm or 140mm width size of the Pomoca Climb Pro S-Glide skin for a QST 106 174cm length with 138mm at tip and 124mm in the tail?
2/22/2024
Answer from jbo

Hi Wyatt, I would go with the 120s which would be plenty of grip and fold in half nicely without overhang. Go 140 if you want every last cm of grip and are OK with a bit bulkier skin in your jacket or pack.

Question from Alex

Hi, I'm considering these for some 2010 K2 Hardside 185s 131/98/119 skis.

Would I want the 120mm or do I need the full 140mm?

Thanks!

Answer from Emmett I

Alex,

I'd go with the 120mm - so long as the whole tail is covered, you'll get plenty of grip.
