We’re not sure but we think the “S” stands for “Super”. The new Pomoca Super treatment on the old reliable Climb Pro Glide skins makes them even better at sliding. The friction coefficient is now more akin to racing formulas than to similar mohair-mix skins. Good sliding technique will be rewarded with up to 20% energy savings on an average climb, a figure extrapolated from recent lab tests. The Climb Pro S-Glides are 70% mohair, 30% nylon, and 100% fast. The skins feature the manageable Pomoca glue formula and easy-to-use tip brackets and tail clips. These are likely the default skin choice for interested ski tourers.

  • Safer Skin Light membrane is waterproof, tear-resistant, and tends to hold its hairs in place.
  • Ever Dry 2.0 is a water-shedding treatment that prevents potentially heavy water soakage.
  • S-Glide concoction is applied at the end to give you a lifelong friction-reducing stride.
  • ClickLock is a tip system that allows you to swap square brackets to match your ski tips.
  • Adjustable tail clips ride up and down a thick stretchy strap that is notched for a good hold.
  • Kits come with a trimmer that is much easier to use than the letter-opener style skin trimmers.
  • Includes a skin bag for carrying your climbers and for long-term storage across seasons.
  • Skins come with tips attached (except Universal length), otherwise known as "Back Fix" in Pomoca-speak.
  • Universal Kits - 185cm of material with tails attached; cut to ski length and attach the 85mm or 95mm wide tip buckles (both included) before trimming.
  • No Tips - A Universal Kit without the tip hardware...attach race bungees or your favorite touring tips.

Update 2020/21: The S-Glide skins are now made with thinner backing material and they have redesigned Click Lock tip attachments and tail hooks that enhance durability. The skins are about 40g lighter out of the box with the same grip and amazing glide. They now come in a zippered hard case.

I've got a pair of Moment Pikas that are 139 / 112 / 130cm and 170 cm long, what size skins should I get to make sure the metal piece fits the tips?

Thanks!

Answer from Zak M

Hey Jacqui, the 140cm x165-180mm should work out quite well for those skis.

Length recommendation for the Atomic Backland 107 in a 187cm?
And will the tip connector fit over the boat hull tip on that ski?
Thanks
12/31/2020
Answer from Zak M

Hey Mike, ideally you would need the 140mm x 185-200cm or the 175-190cm but it looks like we are currently out of stock in them. The tip connector should be wide enough for the 107's as well.

Question from Scott Z

Voile V8's 176cm (141-112-123). Sounds like either 120mm x 175-190, or 140mm x 165-180 would work fine. Is that right? With the excess length in the 120mm, should I just go with the 140mm?

Thanks

Answer from Will M

Hey Scott,

Great question! I would go for the 140mm x 165-180cm if I were you! Plus, that'll cover your tails perfectly.

Question from Tasha

Hello, I've got a pair of Black Crow Atris 2020 size 178 (138-108-125) and was trying to pick the skin length I need, will the 140 x 165-180 be too short? I figured the length difference was in the adjustable tail clip, but wanted to make sure I wasn't going to have issues with the clip being at the very end of the rubber strap piece vs the longer skins being too long and have no room to clip.
12/28/2020
Answer from Zak M

Hey Tasha, the 140X165-180 would be fine but you wouldn't have a ton of room on the back end of the skin. You are within the range of the measurements though so all should be good.

I have the Head KORE 105s, 189 length. Sidecut profile = 138/107/127. What size should I go with? Also looks like you only have the 120 or the 140 in stock - no 130?
12/27/2020
Answer from Teddy Young

Hey Sean, thanks for reaching out! We tend to go based off of tail width and subtract the metal edges, so the 120mm x 185-200cm should be a good fit for you!

Question from Tim

I have these for my splitboard, does pomoca make splitboard attachments?
12/14/2020
Answer from Zak M

Hey Tim, Pomoca does make a splitboard tail kit but we do not carry them. We do carry other splitboard tail kit attachments from Black Diamond but that would require you to re-fix the tail with that said attachment.

Question from Eric Sharp

Hi, I am new to alpine tour. I have a pair of the pro s glides. I see you have the following "Ever Dry 2.0 is a water-shedding treatment the prevents potentially heavy water soakage and S-Glide concoction". Should I still wax my skins?
11/29/2020
Answer from Teddy Young

Hey Eric, thanks for reaching out! This chemical water-shedding treatment can wear out over time, so waxing your skins will be helpful to keep them waterproof and glide faster!

Question from Joshua

I have pomoca s-glides and after 1.5 seasons the glue is balling quite badly and coming off on my bases. Short of hot scraping and stripping the skin and re-gluing, any ideas? I see pomoca makes a re-glue kit but it seems to only be available in europe. thanks!
11/25/2020
Answer from Brett S

Thanks for reaching out, Joshua! Short of re-gluing your skins, there aren't many other options besides getting a new set of skins. If you're hoping to keep that set around, scraping the old glue and applying new glue would be the only option. While it is ideal to use the brand's glue when doing this, if you completely scrape the skins you could get by using any type of skin glue.

Question from Shane K

Probably a silly question but i was wondering if you guys carried the splitboard attachments for these skins?
11/24/2020
Answer from Will M

Hey Shane,

Great question! Sadly we do not carry Pomoca specific splitboard attachments. We do however have a "G3 Splitboard Tail Clip Assembley" which would pair with the "G3 Tail Connector Kit". These can be found under G3 Skin Parts

Thanks!

Question from sean

My ski length is 180 cm. Should I go with the 165-180 or the 175-190? Would be nice not to have excess tail flopping around, but worried about the smaller length being just a hair too short.
11/16/2020
Answer from Zak M

Hey Sean, It would be more preferable to be in the middle of those measurements just incase something arises with the skins in the future. I would stick with the 175-190cm length.

Hi! I have the Line Vision 98's (131/98/119 mm) and wondering if I should go 120mm or 140mm. Appreciate your insight!

Answer from Julieana

Hey Rhianna, you'll want to base your skin width on the tail width of your ski, so the 120mm should be perfect for you!

Question from Steve

Hello,

What would be the best skins for 168cm/124 mm tip width/76 waist width/105 tail width? Would the 100mm be okay, or larger and cut to size for maximum grip?
11/7/2020
Answer from jbo

Hi Steve, sounds like a Volkl ski! 100mm should be plenty, noting that it can be tough to sidehill on firm snow with that much sidecut, and going with 120mm wouldn't be significantly disadvantageous.

Hey I am ordering some atomic backland 100s in 188L.- 131-101-121. What size skins do you recommend?
10/31/2020
Answer from Teddy Young

Hey Keith, thanks for reaching out! We choose skin width based on the ski's tail, so I'd recommend the 120mm width. As for length, you could choose either 175-190cm or 185-200cm, depending on your preference! The shorter option will be lighter, more packable, and have less tail flapping on the top sheet. The longer option will offer more coverage, possibly giving you more grip on the steeper, icier skintracks.

Question from Erik

Hi I have dps foundation w 100s. 171cm: 131,100,117. Could you help me with sizing that. Go 140 and trim a ton? Or 120 and have lots of exposure? Thanks
10/30/2020
Answer from Will McD

Hi Erik. With the 120 you'll have about 5mm of exposure on either side, which is a fair amount. I would recommend going with the 140mm width as the full side-to-side coverage will improve grip and glide consistency and also help keep snow from getting under the skin and onto the glue.
