We’re not sure but we think the “S” stands for “Super”. The new Pomoca Super treatment on the old reliable Climb Pro Glide skins makes them even better at sliding. The friction coefficient is now more akin to racing formulas than to similar mohair-mix skins. Good sliding technique will be rewarded with up to 20% energy savings on an average climb, a figure extrapolated from recent lab tests. The Climb Pro S-Glides are 70% mohair, 30% nylon, and 100% fast. The skins feature the manageable Pomoca glue formula and easy-to-use tip brackets and tail clips. These are likely the default skin choice for interested ski tourers.
Safer Skin Light membrane is waterproof, tear-resistant, and tends to hold its hairs in place.
Ever Dry 2.0 is a water-shedding treatment that prevents potentially heavy water soakage.
S-Glide concoction is applied at the end to give you a lifelong friction-reducing stride.
ClickLock is a tip system that allows you to swap square brackets to match your ski tips.
Adjustable tail clips ride up and down a thick stretchy strap that is notched for a good hold.
Kits come with a trimmer that is much easier to use than the letter-opener style skin trimmers.
Includes a skin bag for carrying your climbers and for long-term storage across seasons.
Skins come with tips attached (except Universal length), otherwise known as "Back Fix" in Pomoca-speak.
Universal Kits - 185cm of material with tails attached; cut to ski length and attach the 85mm or 95mm wide tip buckles (both included) before trimming.
No Tips - A Universal Kit without the tip hardware...attach race bungees or your favorite touring tips.
Update 2020/21: The S-Glide skins are now made with thinner backing material and they have redesigned Click Lock tip attachments and tail hooks that enhance durability. The skins are about 40g lighter out of the box with the same grip and amazing glide. They now come in a zippered hard case.
Update 2024/25: Pomoca is phasing these out in favor of new tip and tail hardware on the renamed Tour Pro skins.
Hi Kyle, the 120cm x 165-180cm would work great! It's slightly skinnier than the widest part of the tip, but that's OK and allows the skin fold in half cleanly.

Looking to put a set on a pair of 184cm Fischer Ranger 102 FR skis (138-103-128 mm). Additionaly have another pair of 184cm skis with 134-96-117 mm dimensions. What size skins do you recommend for each of these and seperately is it possible to get one to work with both or would that be too much compromise on sizing. Thanks in advance for your help.
Nick, For size, the 120mm x 175-190cm will work. Looks narrow, but would only leave a sliver at the tail uncovered and could possibly be used for both skis. If you were to trim to the full width of the 96 ski (covering the edges at the waist), for the Ranger, the trimmed width at the waist would leave the edges uncovered. So, the 3mm difference would not be noticeable. You could even trim to expose the edge on the 96 ski and be OK.
Interested in getting these for my K2 waybacks. 186 in length (136-106-124). Looks like the 120s wouldnt go edge to edge underneath and the 140s might be too wide. is there a middle option available? Or will the 140s trim fine? Thoughts?
The 140mm will trim just fine, but I'd recommend the 120mm for that ski! Accounting for a few mm of steel edge, I think there would be a negligible amount of base material showing at the tail.

Bought Pomoca climb pro s-glide skins! Bought them too long. Can I shorten them?
Hey Tyler, you can shorten up the skins relatively easily by unstitching the tail strap off the actual skin material, and re-cutting the skin to the shorter desired length. You would then need to re rivet the same tail strap on using some Ski Trab Hammer Rivets.

Hi Skimo Crew: I have a pair of Backland 107 skis; length 182; 137,107,124 and I'd like to upgrade my skins this season to Pomoca Climb Pro S Glides. The Pomoca website recommends 100 mm wide - L. What is your recommendation for sizing skins on this ski? Thanks, Bill
Hey Bill, I'd recommend the 120mm x 175-190cm size for that ski! We tend to base our skin width choice on the tail width of the ski, and accounting for the edges, that 120mm should give you great coverage on the 124mm tail.

Hi! I'm trying to get hold of the 120mm in the smallest length- my skis are 164cm- will you be sticking these again? Either this brand or Voile would be my choice. Thanks for your help.
Hi Claire, we do have these back in stock for the season! As of yet we don't have the smallest size in that width, but we should be getting some soon. If you'd like to email us at help@skimo.co we'd be happy to put you on the notification list for when your size comes in.

I ordered these skins in the 100mm width for my Backland 78s. They look great, but the skis are 113-78-103 by 169cm. Laying the skins on the skis it looks like a very difficult trim job with very little edge margin to grab for trimming. The 120mm width doesn't come short enough for my skis. Any suggestions?
Hey Andrew, it looks like Pomoca is out of stock currently for the 120mm x 165-180cm size, but we should have more on the way in a little over a month! Let me know if you'd like me to set up an email alert for you to be notified when that size is back in stock.
I'd say the skins you currently have will likely work well for you, and all you need to trim is the waist area! The included Pomoca skin trimmer is the best one we have, and its built-in offset and sharp blades should give enough bite to start the cut, then you can grab the offcut as it trims. Let me know if there's more you'd like to brainstorm, feel free to reach out at help@skimo.co!
Hi Andrew, just chiming from personal preference, this situation is ideal! With the tip rocker, you don't really need edge-to-edge coverage at the ends; however, you'll have plenty of edge-to-edge contact in the middle of the ski where it counts most. The situation you have will be lighter than a 120mm-width skin with less drag.
I can echo what Teddy says about the trimmer provided - I've trimmed many of my own skis accurately with that trimmer and things turn out great, especially with the first set of skins when the blades are nice and sharp. Just get the skins as centered as you can so the plush is running nice and straight.
Hi - I have a pair of Black Crows Camox Freebird with 133/96/114 dimensions in a 178 length. I'm assuming I need the 120mm version of these skins which is sold out but would like to confirm.
Hey Daniel, you are correct, based on your tail width you'd want the 120mm width skin which we are out of for the season. We do have the material available per CM here and the Pomoca Back Fix Easy Set if you'd like to build your own skin or have us build one for you.

I'd be very interested in that. How can I set that up?
Hey Taylor, you're looking for a 120mm wide skin in a 155cm to 170cm length. Unfortunately we are sold out of this skin in that size for this season, however the Voile Hyper Glide Skins are comparable to this one and we do still have those available in the 120mm x 155-170cm size.

What size do you suggest for Faction 3.0 skis, 177cm? More interested in grip than glide if that influences your recommendation. Thanks!
Paul, There are a few Faction 3.0 skis, of different widths. A good choice would be the 120mm width for full coverage and grip. You can try the 120mm X 165-180cm here Climb2.0

Hi. I am looking at your Pro S-Glide skins. I just bought a pair of Icelantic Mystic 107 skis - The dimensions are 138-107-123 and length is 169. What skin size do you recommend? Thanks! -Lisa
Hey Lisa, unfortunately we are sold out of these in a width that would suit your Icelantic Mystic skis. Something comparable would be the Voile Hyper Glide Skins. I would suggest a 120mm x 165-180cm size for you.

Hi, I have the Salomon QST Lux (128/92/111) and was wondering why Pomoca says to get the 100 mm XS instead of 110 XS?
Hi Dani, The Pomoca Climb Pro S-Glide skins are a nice and grippy skin, so you don't necessarily need wall to wall coverage in the tail for them to perform well on the skin track, especially if you have some tail rocker in your ski, which the Salomon QST Lux does. If you have both the 110mm and the 100mm available to you and you'd prefer to have wall to wall coverage to ensure no slip outs on the skin track you're definitely not losing anything by going with the 110 mm, but the 100mm should also be just fine, and might give you a little more glide as well.

Good morning - I just purchased the 2020 Blizzard Zero G 95s and want to get these skins. Which ones do you suggest? Thank you!
Hey Eric, It depends on how much grip you're looking for. The tail of that ski is 111.5 so if you wanted wall to wall coverage I'd go for the 120mm width. These skins are pretty grippy, so if you're wanting a little more glide you can definitely get away with using the 100mm width.

Hi, I have the Black Crows Navis Freebird (139 x 102 x 119) in 185cm length. Can I get away with the 120mm width skin? Also, do I need the L or the XL (length)? Thanks, site rocks!
The 120mm width will give you great coverage to maximize both grip and glide. The XL, or 175-190cm length is the right choice for your skis. Enjoy the climb!
Finally got a pair of these and realized what I've been missing. Boy these are legit. They're textured on the glue side, which makes them somehow quite easy to separate from themselves. Also despite having the 120mm waist for some fat skis, they fold in half with the rando skin-fold technique easily. Usually on wider skins that technique is harder for me anyway. The grip is superb, at least when new. I didn't find them terribly glidey but for me that's rarely my principle concern. The skin cutter was easy, the tail clips seem to pretty much stay at the "notch" you set them at, the tips don't wiggle side-to-side like the Contours. They pack down well and fit easily in my jacket. They're a bit spendy, but so far anyway I'm a big fan.

I just bought the Kastle TX 90 Alpine touring ski. Sidecut: 122/90/111 What size in the Pomoca Climb Pro S-Glide Skins should l buy?
Graeme, the 120mm width will give you Full coverage. The 100 would also work, leaving a bit uncovered at just the widest points of the ski. That would give you a bit less gliding resistance.

As a guide and avalanche educator the last thing I need to be thinking about in the backcountry is my equipment. There are enough variables in a day of backcountry skiing as it is. These skins have made my job easier and safer. Out of the box these are the best uphill skins I've owned. I am used to having to adjust my skinning technique to new skins, but that wasn't an issue with these. The glue is also far superior to previous skins I've owned. Set-up was low stress (best skin cutter ever!). I highly recommend the Pro-S Glide to anyone from those just getting into backcountry skiing all the way to crusty professionals. These do the job.
