Palau All Track Power MV Liners

Palau took their All Track collection to the next level by offering a new “power” liner in a slimmer package. Working off the mighty Powertrack 10, they shaved the liner down to 8mm to allow its use in tighter-fitting, more articulate boots. Using a medium-density heat-moldable EVA foam, Palau made the Power MV (formerly known as the Power LT) a precise fitting liner to boost the performance of modern touring boots. Compared to similar Intuitions, the Palau All Track Power MV is designed with a thinner upper cuff to fit more calf sizes and cuff shapes to keep your feet warm and comfortable while keeping performance high.

  • 8mm custom 100% moldable mid-density foam.
  • Tongue Liner with optional laces for easy entry and close fit.
  • Performance upgrade for the Spitfire, TLT6, TLT7, F1, or similar.
  • Relief zone in the spine for better range of motion.
  • Overall medium volume but molds precisely.
  • Formerly called the "Power LT."

*Coloring Note: Please note the liner coloring/pattern may differ slightly from the shown photos, depending upon availability.

Question from Tom

I have a pair of size 19/20 Hawx Ultra XTD's in a 27.5 and am thinking about replacing the liner. I have about a 10mm shell fit for length and pretty much fill this boot in all the other dimensions. A higher volume liner than stock is not really an option. I would also like a liner that has a little more room in the toebox. The toebox in the the stock liner is freakishly short and tight. Is a size 27.5 or 28 Power LT the right call, or a size 28 Pro Tour LV? Also, are both of those liners lighter than the stock liner at 318 grams?
12/6/2021
Answer from Brett S

Thanks for your question, Tom. The 27.5 should do the trick. In terms of weight, the Power LT liners weigh in at 398.2 grams for the pair in a size 27.5. We don't have a 28.0 LV intuition pro tour in stock, so I can't give you an exact weight. My speculation is that they (intuition) would be in the same ballpark as the Power LT's, though. The Power LT is quite thermoformable and you should be able to get the toebox to have enough room. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Question from Sean

I go through a pair of new liners about every year or so. I currently use the Intuition Pro Tour Liners (25.0) in my Scott Cosmos II boots. Would these be a good option ?
11/22/2021
Answer from Brett S

Thanks for reaching out, Sean! For your boot, I would recommend sticking with the Intuition liners. These are great liners, however, for the big volume of the Cosmos, an Intuition would be the best option. Additionally, the Intuition foam is a bit denser, which helps resist packing out (the Paulau foam is less dense, which is better for range of motion). Please let us know if you have any other questions!

Question from Deling R

Hi, I have a pair of Dynafit TLT 6 boots with CL liners. I bought them online from Europe as only CR liners were available in North America. After 6 seasons, they have developed a couple of small holes and I need to replace them. I wonder if this liner would be a good replacement for my TLT 6 CL. I love my old ones. It's a spring/summer setup for climbing volcanoes. So I don't need them to be super warm. But I'd like them to be flexible and nimble. Thanks.

Answer from Zak M

Hey Deling, the Palau Power LT liner might be a touch on the beefy side for the TLT 6. I would steer you a bit more towards Palau Tour Lite Pro which would be a good comparison to that CL liner. You could also take a look at the Palau Tour Lite Pro Evo which would give you just a bit more stiffness out of the upper cuff. Let us know if you have any more questions!

Question from Tony

wow, thanks for the quick response! I should have fleshed out my question a little more - I’m looking to boost downhill performance as much as possible, and am willing to sacrifice a bit of ROM - looking for the “beefiest” liner I could squeeze into that boot while maintaining a similar fit

Answer from Julieana

Hey Tony, if you want to go into more details about our liners feel free to email us at help@skimo.co. This liner will have much more volume than the stock liner of the F1 LT, and therefore will have a significantly snugger fit throughout the boot.

Question from Tony

Scarpa F1 LT 29.0 , stock liner fits me well, will this liner in the same size fit similarly? Will it be a change in downhill performance?
Thanks
2/10/2021
Answer from Will M

Hey Tony,

We actually suggest you go with the Palau Tour Lite Pro as it'll offer similar uphill performance as well as downhill. The Power LT will limit the ROM quite a bit and have a bit too much volume.

Question from Reed

Hi there, big fan of the site. I'm looking to replace the liner on my 2019-20 Atomic Hawx Ultra XTD 130 boots (size 27.5). I would like to take up a bit more space in the ankle and cuff of the boot. I have about 50 touring days in the boot, and the liner feels pretty blah.

What would be the best liner for the job? From looking through your site, Palau Power LT or Intuition Pro Tour seem to fit that description.

Thank you!

Answer from Teddy Young

Hey Reed, thanks for reaching out! The Intuition Pro Tour Low Volume would likely work well for you!

Question from Peter

My Hoji Pro Tour in Size 28.0 feels a little bit too big. On my Dynafit TLT's I use 27.0-27.5 (TLT5 & TLT8). Is it possible to use a Palau Power LT in size 27.5 Liner for my 28.0 Shell?
1/30/2021
Answer from Patrick C

Hey Peter, yes you could end up putting in a smaller liner to take up some room initially but you might want to check out some boot shims in order to get a more permanent solution for your volume problem. Once the liner packs out you would be in the same boat most likely.

Is this Power LT going to be a good replacement for the palau liner in my Technica Zero G Guide Pro boots?

Answer from Will M

Hey Ted!

You bet. The Palau Power LT will be the most similar to the stock liner of those Guide Pros.

Question from Russell

Hi

I’m looking for a liner to replace the old Palau liner in my Garmont Voodoo 75mm telemark. Which current Palau liner will be close to the liner they had in that boot.
I’m having real problems with other boots, in particular loss of circulation and numbness in toes under front of foot etc, it seems the Garmont\ Scott with the Palau liner is the only one that works for me. Scott liners are trash for me.

ThANKS SO MUCH
1/11/2021
Answer from Julieana

Hi Russell,
I think you'll probably be looking for a thicker liner for that boot, in which case the Palau Power LT liner will be the way to go! If you're wanting something a little lighter, the Tour Lite Pro Evo Liners might also be a good option for you.

Question from Evgenii Zavialov

I have Maestrale with shell 29mm mondo. My foot is 28.5mm. Would it better to choose this 8mm liners or find thick 10mm Power Liners version. Im just worry about room for my fingers. Thank you!
12/14/2020
Answer from Zak M

Hey Evgenii, the Palau Power LT liner could most likely work out fairly well! If you wanted to get a bit thicker of liner for added downhill performance the Intuition Pro Tour Liner could fit the bill as well. Either the 28.5 or 29 liner size should be the size you'd be looking for.

These fit great into the fischer travers boots, beefed them up nicely from the stock lines. It does make the fit tighter but after a few days they do pack out slightly. I have not needed to mold them.

Question from Ben

Which Palau liners would be a good replacement for my Black Diamond Factor 130 MX boots, the original liner is starting to break down and going to need replaced soon, thanks
11/23/2020
Answer from Will M

Hey Ben,

Great question! I think I'd point you towards the Palau Power LT. It's a bit thicker than the other Palau liners we carry, plus it'll be more suitable for a four buckle boot!

for another boot data point: I put these power LT liners in a 28.5 in my Salomon mtn lab boots, size 28.5. The fit has been great, no complaints after 2 early season tours (one of witch I hiked about 5 miles on dry ground in the boots) The fit is not identical to the stock liner, I would say slightly looser in the heel, but it has not been an issue for me. So far they have been great, I would buy them again.

I would also like to say that skimo.co has some of the best customer service around. They get that we are serious about our recreation and I have had great experiences asking questions and ordering gear from them.

John S (downright abused product)

I ordered these as replacements for the Maestrale's factory Intuition liner. They heat molded easily at home, and are warm, comfortable and supportive. They came up short of 5 stars for me because durability has been less than stellar. The soft fabric on the outside of the cuff wears through easily, and I've also had to repair some stitches. If you value function over form, order these with confidence and keep your Gorilla Tape and needle and thread handy for those minor repairs if needed.

Hi John, thanks for the feedback! Don't forget to use the vinyl pads included with your boots to cover rivets, etc on the inside of your shells. Duct tape works too.

Great reminder, Jbo. Unfortunately forgetting the pads wasn’t a factor here. Power straps are rubbing through to the foam on the cuffs, and the stitches that blew out are around the top edge of the scaffo. Can’t feel any rough or abrasive surfaces in that area. I compared to four other liners I have access to at the house, and the thread used on the flex zone of the Palau’s appears lighter/thinner than three of the other four liners.

Question from John K

Hey there, I have the Hoji Pro Tour in a 26.5, but the liner is a few mm to long (maybe about 4mm). In downhill boots I wear a 25.5. Shell fit with the Hoji is 1 finger for me. With the liner (Custom Light) out and standing in it, I am barely not touching the front. I realize I need a Hoji 26 liner. Do you recommend the Palau LT in 26? My other option is to contact Dynafit for a size 26 in their Custom Light liner--but I'm not sure if it is smaller than their 26.5! I realize this is a lot of information. Any help would be appreciated!
9/16/2020
Answer from John K

I apologize, the shell has 15mm behind my ankle and therefore is why the boot feels to large.
9/16/2020
Answer from jbo

Hi John, there is negligible difference in the Dynafit half-size liner vs whole. 15mm isn't too long, but length is only one factor. If the shell does not match your foot well, it will be an uphill battle. Your could play with an insole or boot board to try and take up space, or yes, try a thicker liner. The Palau LT is not significantly thicker.

Would this liner fit the Arc'teryx Procline 26/26.5 shell?

Yes, I just tested the size 26.5 Power LT liner in that shell and it appears to fit just fine! For that perfect fit, I'd recommend heat molding the liners.

Question from Bob

What is the best replacement liner for the LaSportiva Scorpius boot? What is most similar? Would the Palau Tour Lite be to thin?
6/9/2020
Answer from Brett S

Thanks for the question, Bob. The Palau Power LT would be the better option. It is 1mm thicker than the Tour Lite, and will provide a more secure grip on the foot. The extra material also makes for an inherently warmer liner. These are thermoformable, and I would recommend having a reputable ski shop mold them for you to truly customize them to your feet.
