If you already have ten toes, you might consider getting some heels to match. The Dynafit binding heel pieces can be used to replace borked ones, build an unsanctioned super binding, or be stashed in your collection of other unusual parts. It's also not a bad idea to have a backup plan if you're planning an extended stay in a remote place. See the table below for details.
Please note that heel pieces are sold individually. If you have two feet, you might want two heels. Also, Dynafit does not include screws with all replacement heels as indicated in above table, but they can be found in our listing for parts.
* The Speed Radical heels are current and include the anti-rotation mechanism and reinforced roofs.
** The Radical ST/FT and Rotation 7 heels do not come with baseplates since those are integrated with the brakes.
*** Low Tech Race 2.0 Heels come in either green or red and your first choice of color may have already gone to the other skier.
*** PDG Heels come in either orange or blue and your first choice of color may have already gone to the other skier.
Speed radical heel update...this was asked last year though an update would be helpful. Do the speed radical heel pieces come with the metal plate, stronger screws and reinforced housing? Thank you.
Hey Marcus, the heel pieces have stronger screws and reinforced housings but haven't gotten the metal plate update yet! Should be sometime this summer that we see that update.

Wondering if there is an older Dynafit heel piece that has the same hole configuration as the latest TLT Radical ST 2.0 bindings? I'm looking for a spare heel piece for my repair kit. Same for the toe piece? Thanks
Hey Neil, unfortunately that hole pattern is unique to the Radical 2.0 and won't match any other toe, heel, or adjustment plate. We do sell the toes and heels individually though, why not just carry another one of each of those if you're worried about something? Check our article about Binding Hole Patterns if you have any further questions.
Hi Michael, not this season unfortunately. And neither will the spring itself be available.

I have a pair of radical st bindings. The heel piece has failed and it seems to be a reoccurring issue. Could I replace the readical st heels with speed turn heels and keep the radical toe pieces? Same hole pattern? Same ramp angle? Can I put the radical brakes on the speed turn heels?
Hi Keith, send us a picture of your heel piece and we'll get it sorted through Dynafit. Yes, you can use the Turn heels with those toes and without re-drilling. No brakes, however. Pin heights are listed here.
I was reading on wildsnow about the newest (as of Feb 2016) Speed Radical heel pieces. Apparently they have an extra metal plate on top of the heel for reinforcement.
Are your stock this newest version?
Looking to maybe upgrade to the very newest heel pieces. Don't want any issues in the future. I contacted Dynafit but they directed me to a dealer for a specific part number.
Hi William, thanks for the feedback! The heel pieces are priced individually, so you need Qty of 2 for a pair. The Radicals have 2 riser heights plus a flat-on-ski position, so maybe that counts as three.
The Superlite 1.0 and LTR 1.0 share the same front two holes but the rear hole is further back on the Superlite. They both use the same tripod adjustment plate. More info on hole patterns is here.
Excellent. Thanks. That's exactly what I needed. With a 12mm difference (25 vs. 37) in heel hole pattern length, it looks like a Low Tech Race could be swapped for a Speed Superlite.
12mm should be enough space to drill a new hole for a 12.5mm Torx screw? Or will the hole edges still be too close?
Hi Brian, for a new set, the best option is a set of Radical ST heels with brakes. You can also check for used parts or do a trade-in.

Hi Derek, sounds like a interesting combo. We don't have experience with that particular setup but it could work. I think you mean Maestrale boot?

Hello,
I noticed today that the heel piece on my Radical FT's is cracked and the top screws no longer hold the assembly together. Is the heelpiece you are selling here compatible across the multiple generations of the binding? I believe it was purchased in fall of 2013 but not sure what generation that is. Thanks
Had a defective Speed Superlite heel piece from a set of bindings I got on backcountry. Ordered a replacement and everything was good. Kept the defective heel piece for spare parts.

Question from
Jose J. López
Does the three hole pattern of the Dynafit Speed Superlite heel unit match that of the Low Tech Race heel unit?
No way Jose, it's longer. The front two holes match though, so you'd only need one new one.

Question from
Mike
Do the hole patterns match between the Speed Radicals and the Speed Turns? Or can the heel piece be replaced by removing the adjustment screw, leaving the mounting plate mounted to the ski? That would be sweet!
Hi Mike, yes the heel mounting patterns are the same for the Radicals, Turns, Classics, Comforts, Verticals, etc. The housings are not interchangeable onto various heel posts, however.

Are you going to sell the dynafit expedition heel? I feel that if any place would sell them, it would be skimo.co
Kudos to Skimo.co for selling individual Dynafit parts to allow a mix-and-match approach. After exploding two Speed Radical heels, I purchased a set of Speed Turn heels to compliment my Radical toes. I feel the "Classic" Dynafit heel design was the best to date, and most changes since then have been for the worse. However, the Radical toe was a significant improvement with easier entry and fewer pre-releases due to torque out. Now I can have the best of both worlds! Thanks Jason!
I love, love, love that skimo.co sells separate heel and toe pieces (as well as parts) for a variety of bindings. I bought the Speed Radical heels to upgrade some Radical STs to brake-less, and have been very happy with them. Add to the fact that all (non-weird-race) Dynafit bindings seem to use the same standard hole pattern, and you can use threaded inserts to switch things around as often as you like. Makes sense to me!
Correction - all non-weird race HEELS seem to use the same pattern. Worth noting that Dynafit demo bindings (not available here) have the same horizontal spacing but different longitudinal spacing. If you have Demo bindings already mounted and want to go to a standard hole pattern, it's easy to choose either the existing front pair or the rear pair and get the BSL + adjustment you need with only two more holes in the ski.

When I submit an order with a quantity of 1 for heal pieces, do I get a set, or only 1 heal piece?
